“Luxury stay with awesome location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

You really can't beat the location - right on Healdsburg square, walking distance to shopping, restaurants and tasting rooms. Don't let the eco-friendly hotel put you off - the rooms are large and hip. We loved the open bathroom, the cold water available, the comfy bed. Be careful of rooms facing the street as they can be noisy. As another reviewer noted, all of the bedding is down, so allergy sufferers beware - they have a limited supply of hypoallergenic pillows. Breakfast is better than most free breakfasts, including lox, quiche, made to order waffles, etc. Don't be surprised when you can't find the front desk - it's part of the bar. And speaking of the bar, don't miss their delicious, retro cocktails - a welcome relief after the wine tasting. The hotel is fun and inviting, including having bicycles to loan and a beautiful lap pool. One drawback is no dedicated parking. We will definitely return.

Room Tip: Be wary of rooms facing the street, especially on lower floors.

Being an East coaster, I was a little worried about an eco-hotel, but was quickly relieved upon check-in. Our room was really large and really comfortable. The bathroom is open and they have lovely toiletries - only comment is since the shower is completely open, you can't build up steam, so the air doesn't heat up. The floors are pretty and the geometric windows refreshing. I like having a sitting area in the room. We had a cute balcony!

Breakfast is delicious, including quiche, made-to-order waffles, home-mae yogurt, fruit and most importantly nice, dark fresh coffee.

We found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. One thing they had to do for me was to switch out the feather pillows for hypo-allergenic ones. The bed and pillows are down otherwise, so allergy sufferers beware and just let them know. They helped with winery suggestions and shopping ideas. There was a wine hour with a local winery which was a nice touch.

Make dinner or lunch reservations at Spoonbar before you come - it's AMAZING!

Healdsburg is pricey, so I didn't consider this high for the region. This hotel is in the middle of town, walking distance to great shops. There was plenty of street parking. The room, lobby with bright colored couches and chairs and service made it feel worth the spend.

Room Tip: 401 is large and the balcony overlooks the pool.

We usually stay in a bed and breakfast, but we were traveling with a group of 10 so this hotel was easier and cheaper for a mid week stay. Everyone loved it! The rooms are large and we had a patio that was super cute. The bed was like a cloud, I didn't even want to get out of it. We had the continental breakfast each morning and it was very good, they feature the flying goat coffee which is so yummy. We enjoyed the pool, but didn't use the bar. We would definitely stay here again!

My husband and I spent 3 nights recently (Feb) at this hotel and enjoyed our stay. The room was fine with a small balcony to sit in the sun. We were disappointed in the lack of movie channels on the TV. The breakfast was good and we had drinks at the bar a few nights. The pool looked nice but we were busy and the weather was a little on the cool side when we were there. We visited a few wineries while there. My husband thought the bed had valleys in it.

My husband and I stayed here about 2 weeks ago to celebrate a friends 40th birthday. We had a wonderful time and truly enjoyed having the Spoonbar down in the lobby. The room was very clean and sort of in a minimalist-style. We slept so sound in what we thought was a top 10 comfortable bed. Other reviewers mentioned noise from downstairs but we heard nothing. I really like the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel provided in the shower in normal size containers. I find the travel size containers to be annoying and not enough. You can choose to take these products with you but it will cost you about $12-ish. The breakfast buffet included with our room was good but not great. Fresh fruit, quiche, greek yogurt with granola and bagels. It was a perfect start to the day but not items we would generally have for breakfast, totally personal preference. We could walk anyway in the square and the provide bikes if you want to go for a ride. Would absolutely come back to this hotel!

Room Tip: We were top floor and to the back of the building

We were in a junior suite, and it was lovely - nice bathroom, great decor, nice and quiet with a view to the back of the property & the creek. We've stayed at the Healdsburg Hotel several times, and I actually think we prefer the H2. I can vouch that at both properties, try to get a room that doesn't face the square/main road - they get noisy.

We didn't have a chance to take out the bikes, but that was a nice amenity. The breakfasts that come with the room are nothing special, but they get the job done, for sure. The front desk staff is a little too casual at times, but will help with anything they can. They didn't seem to be the most on the ball with a few things, however.

This will always be our favorite wine country town, and having two nice hotels to choose from right downtown is great - you really can't go wrong.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back and sides are quieter.

The room was spacious and comfortable, however, my husband and I killed over 30 ants in our room the first morning. There were ants in my make up bag, in the towels, in the bathroom and on the counters.

When we brought the issue to the front desk they offered to "spray" our room while we were out, which indicates this is a known issue. Management did move us into an upgraded room and this room had ants as well, but they at least were dead.
