This was our 8th trip to the wine country but our first staying at Honor Mansion. We love the Healdsburg area and surrounding wine regions and staying there seemed like a good gateway to the Alexander and Dry Creek valleys. We stayed in the Garden Suite which exceeded our expectations. Although at the front of the property - we could not have had more privacy. Loved all the outdoor space especially private patio with jacuzzi. The thing that makes the Honor Mansion so special is their thoughtfulness and attention to detail. We had a lovely chocolate cake waiting for us in our room to celebrate our birthdays as well as a bottle of local wine, some sherry in the decanter, coffee brought to our room every morning, special amenities for the jacuzzi tub, fluffy bathrobes, and every bathroom amenity you would ever need. I felt like I was at home. I also appreciated the way Steve the innkeeper took time with every guest over breakfast to give advice and help them cater their day to their specific needs and interests. The massages out by the pool were fantastic and the breakfasts in the morning - bountiful and delicious. It's also the kind of place where you feel like you have it all to yourself - even if the inn is full. You see people at breakfast but the grounds and cottages are peaceful and private -- perfect for a romantic escape. My only negative comment is the road noise. Although you would never think you were near a busy street and freeway from the beauty of the property - you do hear the cars whirring by. It's not enough to make a huge difference in the overall scheme of things -- but should be noted. Highly recommend the Honor Mansion - rooms, service and breakfast all top notch - hope to return next year.
