“Private Romantic Getaway with Great Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2011

We found the Honor Mansion through a book on Wine Country. After seeing the ratings on TripAdvisor, we cancelled a reservation at another well known B&B to try the Honor Mansion. I am so glad that we stayed here!

From the first interaction via web and phone, the service was exceptional. The response to every question and every desire was fast, friendly and exactly what we needed. Forget about trying to figure out what wineries to visit. Instead, ask Steve to recommend the places you should visit. Each winery that he recommended gave us a better experience than the few we chose for ourselves.

I wanted to have a private picnic with my wife to celebrate 20 years of marriage. The Honor Mansion arranged with a winery to provide a private tasting followed by a mountaintop picnic with amazing views. The Honor even provided the blanket and picnic basket.

We stayed in Vineyard Suite IV and it was well appointed with an outside private patio. The bathroom was large and beautiful. The fireplace a very nice touch that we used since the evenings were a little chilly.

An example of the great service... each morning we had breakfast in the Mansion or outside on the deck by the Koi pond. The service was friendly and gave us great ideas for the day. When we returned to our room after breakfast, our room had been serviced and looked spotless. So nice to come back to a bed already made!

The Honor was about half full when we stayed. However, it felt very private throughout the stay. A great way to unwind.

We debated spending this much money for "lodging". We quickly recognized that the value we received by having the staff make this trip a great memory was fully worth every penny.

My wife and I were celebrating 20 years of marriage. The owners and innkeepers made it a lifetime memory.

The rooms and furnishings are moe than comfortable. The breakfasts are delicious and expansive. A different scone every day and lots of fresh fruit. The owners and staff are amazingly accommodating and pay attention to all the little details that make you thankful for being there.

We could not have chosen a better place to celebrate our 5th anniversery. We were late arriving and missed the nightly wine reception for our first night stay. But no worry, a plate of cheese and fruits and a bottle of wine was left in our upgraded room. The room has a gas in-wall fireplace between the bedroom and the jetted tub in the bathroom. Luxurious bedding and linens, plenty of complimentary bottles of water and sherry. A private flower-encased patio has a large hot tub. Each morning coffee and homemade biscotti was deliverd to our room to get us going. A to-die-for breakfast followed.

The wonderful staff went out of their way to make certain all of our needs were met and questions answered. They were a joy to be around. They obviously are a reflection of the owners.

The city of Healdsburg is very quaint and has some really terrific restaurants and shops. This location is also best for exploring the stunning Russian River Valley. After exploring Napa and surrounding areas we are happy we chose this region and most especially the Honor Mansion.

We can hardly wait for another occasion to go back.

My husband and I stayed at the Honor Mansion in the Garden Suite. It was quaint and charming, yet updated, spacious and luxurious. The only reason I did not give the room a 5 is that the TV is very outdated. There is a cabinet with plenty of room for a flat screen. If you get stuck in wine country and the weather is bad, there is no better place to be with your honey than at the Honor Mansion in one of their cozy rooms with a bottle of good wine and a movie.

The service at Honor Mansion is second to none. The entire staff made you feel special and they also respected your privacy. Our room (actually separate cottage) even had its own driveway! The grounds were meticulous. There is lots of space to walk the gardens and they even have croquet and bocce courts! The exquisite bed was the very best part and 24 hour cappuccino machine and superb breakfast came in a close second.

What lovely owners, staff and facility! We will definitely be back.

Room Tip: I would think that all their rooms are great.

Thank you so much for your kind review. We do appreciate you staying with us and it is always our desire to make our accommodations as comfortable as possible for our guests, especially when they want to “cozy up on a rainy day with a bottle of good wine and a movie”. Unfortunately, we missed the mark in your room. You are absolutely correct that that TV was dated. I say “was” because it was changed out on April 8th, unfortunately just after you left. We have a schedule for changing out all of our TV’s to “flat screens” but we missed your stay and we apologize. It’s been a big project to get 13 rooms changed out but we are almost complete with the task and we are so sorry that you might have been disappointed with any part of your stay with us. Thank you for taking the time to write your kind review, we truly appreciate it. Hope to see you again soon. Warm regards, Steve, Cathi & Staff

We've been to Honor Mansion once before and told our friends how great it was when we returned from that trip. Since then we promised to bring them with us the next time. We arrived to an extended happy hour because we called and told them we were running late. It was so nice to have a glass of wine and snacks like hot artichoke dip waiting for us upon arrival. Even though it was late they offered us a tour of the property and took time showing us to our rooms. We stayed in the Garden Room and our friends in the Wisteria Room. Both were lavishly decorated with large bathrooms and patios. They even had fireplaces which were nice in the early spring weather. We also had a private driveway right next to our front door for our rental car. The breakfast is delicious and bountiful. Steve and Kathy are always so kind. Plus they know good wine and sent us to two of our new favorite wineries Arista and Seghesio. Thanks for the great service and the lush accommodations. Next time we will learn how to play croquet the correct way...the grounds include lots of fun outdoor activities as well. Really, it doesn't get any better than this in Sonoma county!

The Honor Mansion is not a typical B&B, but it has that charm to it. It is located on a beautiful property just outside of downtown and is walkable to the main square in Healdsburg. Buffet breakfast was very tasty and coffee delivery service in the morning is a nice touch. The room was quite comfortable and the owner Steve and the rest of the staff were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again!
