“Elegantly relaxing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2014

This stay was absolutely wonderful, close to many restaurants, stores and the decor was classy. I have zero complaints and only compliments, we would definitely return and take advantage of more of the area when we return. Thank you Ayres

Green Features: This place was serene on the inside it was quiet despite the wedding event during our stay.

It was my 2nd stay at the hotel. The rooms are nicely cool and cleaned. The hallways were hot but you aren't in them long so not too bad. The hotel is very elegant and we were very comfortable. The rooms are spacious and come with a mini fridge and microwave. They have started charging for parking and that was disappointing for them to go with the LA trend. It was only $8 but was free last year. There are a few places close enough to walk to to eat but there is a restaurant on site. We didn't go this time but seem to remember last year the food was pretty good. Over all very nice stay and the staff was super friendly and very accomodating.

I was really, really impressed with this hotel. Both the building itself and the staff running it are great. I stayed for 7 nights and used Hawthorne as my base while exploring LA. It is in a good spot as you are handy to the freeways (405 & 105), LAX and it isn't at one end of the city, sort of the middle of the places I wanted to go (although LA is of course vast).
The rooms are very clean and comfortable as well as generous in size. They have a handy kitchenette like area too. The Hotel facilities are again very clean and tidy. It has a 'European Theme' which I found quite charming and the large internal, open courtyard with a small pool and hot tub is lovely!
The gym is very basic and small but again, clean and functional.
I also stayed at Hilton Costa Mesa and Hilton Glendale on this trip. I found Ayres to be far superior in terms of comfort, staff service and room quality.
I will definitely be back and have no hesitation in recommending this hotel!

Green Features: I like that they don't change your towels, sheets etc every day (unless you request this is done).

I love love love staying at this hotel. It was the highlight of my trip. After touring the city it was a pleasure returning entering this gorgeous tranquil hotel. Service was good. I would have liked to have had a shuttle service to and from the airport because of its proximity. We could not do an early check in because of it being full. I think it needed more help to expedite room opening. I would have given it and excellent if those things could have been provided. Overall, a very good hotel. If I come to LA again I would stay at this hotel. Yes, I would most definitely recommend this hotel. Good job Ayers in Hawthorne. I have never stayed in a hotel like this one. Pricing was good.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Ayres Hotel a couple of years ago and decided to try it again. It was another great stay. It is located in a pretty busy area with restaurants, Costco and the freeway, but once you step inside the hotel you feel like you are worlds away from the outside area. The rooms are spacious and clean. The courtyard and balcony are great places to relax with cocktails after a day at the beach. The beach is only a 10 min easy drive away. They discontinued the free buffet breakfast, but offered 20% discounts for lunch and dinner. We tried the breakfast one morning ordering off the menu. The oatmeal was great, the fruit was fresh, fluffy pancakes and delicious coffee all with great prices and service so didn't miss the buffet at all. We were on the 3rd floor this time so got noise from the freeway, but with the AC on the noise was pretty nonexistent.

Room Tip: Higher rooms facing freeway got more traffic noise. Had a first floor room in the past no noise at a...

We found the Ayers Hotel through a package deal on one of the travel websites; we were reluctant, but decided to book anyway because of the great deal. We were absolutely thrilled we choose the Ayers Hotel was most pleasantly surprised! The staff was professional, friendly and just overall very courteous. Kendra at the front desk greeted us with smile and was most helpful!

The hotel decor is grand and beautiful along with the rooms; this hotel is very quiet and family oriented. We mostly enjoyed sitting on the patio with morning coffee and evening drinks.

The location is very central and right next to the 405 which made it very easy for us to navigate the city sites. Needless to say we were very adjacent to Manhattan Beach which is our favorite beach.

Our rooms were very accommodating, we had two rooms, one king and one with two queens. The kids were in the room with two queens which had a partition between the beds which provided them great privacy.

We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Our room was facing the front entry which was a nice view of the well manicure front entry.

I really enjoyed the Mediterranean look and feel. The artwork and surroundings made me feel like I was in an Italian villa. The front desk personnel were very welcoming. The room was large and comfortable. The location is perfect with the mall across the street and the airport 5 minutes away! I will book my stay there again next time I come to Southern California.
