“Not fancy -- but a decent place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2011

This hotel generally has great rates and is a perfectly acceptable place to stay. Just don't let the tripadvisor reviews make you believe it's a GREAT place to stay! The hotel is standard-issue Comfort Inn. Being newer, the rooms are in good shape and quite comfortable. Breakfast isn't particularly good but is, of course, free. Only hot foods are scrambled eggs (processed, of course) and a waffle machine.

The staff is friendly and they gave us a small welcome bag upon arrival (including, of all things, a razor!). The biggest weakness of the hotel is that the neighborhood is no great shakes. That said, they've developed a small "hotel row" (even closing off the street behind the hotel), so you're pretty isolated from any potential problems. It also means the location is completely without charm.

With a car, it feels perfectly safe, as there is a locked garage 100 feet from the hotel. I'm not sure I'd be keen to use public transport to get there. Good highway access to all of LA from the hotel (well, good access if you don't hit the bad LA traffic).

I'd recommend the hotel for folks looking for a cheap but safe place to crash for a night near the LAX airport, and perhaps for folks looking to save money on a longer LA stay. You won't particularly like the location, but it's perfectly acceptable, and you'll save money over other choices in better neighborhoods.

The rooms are spacious, spotless and comfortable, with large refrgerator, hotplates and microwave. One mystery is why, despite providing this equipment, there are no pots, pans, dishes or cutlery? We had some camping gear with us, so were able to eat
in one night, cooking our own food, but this would be difficult for most travelles. The staff of this hotel were fantastic. Friendly and helpful and very efficient. We had no problems with the shuttle bus fromthe airport. As for the neighbourhood, it is clearly not the kind of place you would walk round by yourself at night, but its fine during the day-just a slightly poor Hispanic neighbourhood full of average working class people. We did catch the train from Hawthorn, including late at night, and walked to and fro from the hotel. We saw some odd and rowdy characters on the train, but had nothing you could really describe as trouble. In short, this hotel provides four star comfort for a two to three star price, and providing you are prepared to spend some extra time, you can access most areas via public transport.
One thing. The breakfast is generally fine, but my husband is gluten intolerant, and all he could eat was the less than inspiring scrambled egg. Would be good if they provided some yoghurts or fruit salad for more variety.

This hotel is clean, quiet (except for the dog next door) and of excellent value. The beds were extremely comfortable. The shower was great. The breakfast was very good. The service was excellent.

For a good, well-run hotel with shuttle service to LAX, I like this one even though the neighborhood is in the process of transition. Part of the neighborhood is run down, and part is new, upscale hotels. There is a secure parking structure, so it's totally safe while being close to LAX. The hotel is quiet, clean, and just fine. The shuttle runs on the half hour, and the staff is top-notch. Give it a try and save some money while getting a good room.

We had 3 rooms over two nights.last time we tried hilton at LAX but the cost got too much particularly with breakfast for 6.the hotel is a little further out but a quick phone call for the free shuttle got us ther in no time. Rooms are definitely good 3.5 star.large good bed LCD screen.almost as good as radisson and hilton. Free continent breakfast is basic but good enough.I normally stay at 4 to 5 star hotels 70 nights per year and I can honestly say that this is good enough.and when you look at the price of $69 plus tax you will be laughing all the way to the bank

Don't let the area fool you. This was a nice place and a great price.
I got a good deal for the room because I signed up for the Comfort Rewards program.
As I was driving to this hotel, I began to worry because the area was a little scary.
Once I got there I was relieved, it was a nice hotel and the actual room was really
cute. There was a full size fridge, a microwave and stove. The place looked updated and
was very clean. The bed was comfortable, lots of big fluffy pillows and I enjoyed my stay.
There was gated parking, which made me feel safe. The only drawback was there is only one entrance to the hotel rooms and you have to walk around the long hallway to get to your room, that was a pain. I really think they could have added another entrance that has
a card reader so that guests can get in a little closer to their room. They have a free
continental breakfast, which was ok. I would have liked a little more selection, but
it was free, so I shouldn't complain. They had cold cereal, bread, bagels, boiled eggs,
coffee, juice, and waffles. The thing I noticed once I went to bed was how quiet it was.
I didn't hear the neighbors, I didn't hear traffic, nor did I hear airplanes flying by.
That was pleasant. There was free WiFi, which worked well and a desk area to put my laptop. Checking in was strange, there is only 1 place to park and the desk
clerk seemed to take a very long time checking us in. Overall, I had a nice time and
only wish it was in a nicer area. I would recommend this hotel to others.

I would have rated this hotel higher if it were not for the outrageous shuttle service - at the time of my arrival at LAX, I phoned in for the shuttle to come and the front desk promptely confirmed a wait time of 15 minutes. Whereas in reality, I got to see the shuttle after 25 minutes of waiting. I thought that would be all it is since I am at Terminal 5 and on the van there are already another passengers ready to go as well. Instead, the driver turned around and went back to Terminal 1 and 3 again to make another round of pickup... By the time the van finally made it to the hotel, a whole hour has passed even though the front desk keeps telling everyone it takes only 15 minutes. Just imaging you are on the van and going through the LAX terminal traffic multiple rounds for a whole hour after an already exhausted flight while you know the hotel is really just a short hop away...
