“Wish to have the same of everything in every hotel I stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

We preferred this hotel for our management meeting mainly for the food quality. I have been hearing a lot of good things about this hotel but the experience was something else. Lovely atmosphere, delicious food, good wine. Beautiful, huge garden, elegantly decorated very clean rooms. What can I say, I loved this hotel and went there again and will go there again.

Room Tip: You may want to prefer the room with a balcony but all of them are nice.

This place is only about 30-60 minutes driving distance from Istanbul depending on which part of the city you start off from and the traffic.

An amazing boutique hotel in the middle rolling hills and trees. I believe they have 10-15 villa style rooms, all uniquely decorated. Owned by a Turkish couple, and operated by a lady named Sema, all of whom have the highest level of attention to detail, which is not easy to come by in Turkey.

My wife and I spent the past weekend there for our wedding anniversary, and it was truly flawless. The rooms are very tastefully decorated; in a French country style. There is a small (but good sized) pool, with pool-side drink and food service available. The chef is amazing, and I'd certainly recommend the tasting menu. If you are going for the main dish, the slow-cooked (10 hours) lamb shank is perfect. Also, the mushroom starter and the wild fruit dessert are to die for. Everything at the restaurant is from the little village nearby; bread (baked by a lady at the village), honey, meat, cheese; everything.

The spa is a nice touch, but it's not necessarily a place that you go to for the spa experience. It's a nice-to-have.

In and around Istanbul, you don't always get what you paid for; meaning places make a name for themselves, prices go up, and quality of service immediately goes down. This place is different. You pay for the service and the experience. I am extremely impressed.

No kids under 15 are allowed.

Surely recommend.

With one of the best chef and kitchen definetely deserves a michelin star, this place is very well and warmly decorated. It is great for weekends in every season with a very good trekking facilities in the forest part of the village. The whole complex is very clean and hygienic.Wine cellar has a very wide selection, I definetely propose this charming small hotel. No kids allowed under 15.

I was responsible for arranging an executive level training programme at Lavanda and everything was just perfect, as expected! The staff is very willing to help and kind. Culinary experience is amazing and you can find a very peaceful atmosphere here. Highly reccomended for weekend getaways and boutique corporate events.

Lavanda is lovely hotel. It is relaxing, romantic and offers one of the best dining experiences in Istanbul. Emre Şen who is the master chef, brings fresh ingredients from all parts of Turkey makes great food with his culinary touch.. Emre's culinary training from Italy coupled with hotel's setting makes you think that you are in Tuscany. in It is one of our favorite locations for a long weekend for all seasons. If you want to rest and recharge in a short time it is definitely recommended.

This place was a real treat - in easy reach of Istanbul, but so peaceful and quiet in the middle of the forest, with the Black Sea less than half an hour's drive away. The room was beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable, with tea and coffee, a desk and a sofa. The gardens were beautiful and the pool and spa looked great, though we didn't use them.

We had mixed weather, but on sunny days we enjoyed walking and biking through the woods, with magnificent views, and when it rained we played Scrabble beside a gorgeous log fire. The food was quite simply amazing. But the best thing was the friendliness, helpfulness and humour of the staff, completely overcoming the language barrier.

Room Tip: I think it was worth paying extra for the Forest View.

We travelled while it was snowing and hesitated several times in order to cancel our booking. Then finally we arrived and the doorman said that we just arrived at the best time of the year. We looked at each other with my boyfriend and we giggled :) as we were a bit hopeless as everywhere was undersnow. We had no clue that the gem sparkels more with snow. Room was cute... Nice love poem books, with lavender smell... It is impossible to not to fall in love again with your other half :) then the words are not enough to tell how delicious the food is... Loved it, loved it, loved it...
