“I love this place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2010

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. The outside of the hotel is gorgeous. At nighttime, there are lights under the awning which makes it even more appealing. I reserved the penthouse ocean view room for 3 nights. All the furniture is really new and there is not one speck of dirt anywhere. All the amenities made me and my partner feel like we were on vacation even being in the room and doing nothing. The fridge and microwave helped a lot because sometimes we brought home food and wanted to save it for later on at night. There were two TV's, one near the couch, and one near the bed. The couch was incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom had Aveda products, which was a huge plus. We had complimentary breakfast every morning in the lobby, and breakfast trays were provided, which was a nice touch. There was a nightlight that goes on near the stairs in our room as soon as any other lights turn off so no one trips, which I thought was a very thoughtful touch. There were many other thoughtful things during our stay. All in all, this is a very beautiful hotel and I would definitely 100% recommend this place to anyone. The only bad thing is that I had to leave!

The wife and I spent a Friday night at the hotel to celebrate her B-day. Booked a couple weeks prior after researching price/reviews on tripadvisor. Best hotel for $230 a night range, especially for a Friday night (others were $300).

Location is great, walking distance to Sam's Chowder House, and right on the beach! The pool/spa was clean and a great plus (it helps when the fog stays away!).

Rooms were clean, and we were upgraded to a partial ocean view. Due to the room being on the end corner, the layout was spacious. King bed, sitting area with couch and two chairs and fireplace, large bath with shower and tub, and best of all a nice little balcony to watch the ocean.

All in all really nice place for the price.

WOW! What a beautiful place to visit anytime of the year. The Beach House didn't disappoint. 1st Class service all the way. Ok, the only thing that didn't work was the stereo in the room....slightly bummed about that. I guess what I liked most was that it was very peaceful and comfortable. Beds, linens, bathroom, the little extras were very welcoming.

We ended our three week road trip of California by spending two nights at the Beach House hotel. It¨s a short drive to the airport, yet still you are away from the noise and traffic of the big city. The staff was very friendly, the room big and clean, we choosed a penthouse ocean view suite, and the view was really very nice. Breakfast was included in the room rate. There was tables and chairs on the terrasse outside, but no real restaurant seatings inside (at least not that we could see). Since it was quite cold and windy, and not tempting to eat breakfast outside, we ended up bringing the breakfast up to the room. The food was nice, fresh fruit, muffins, croissants, coffee etc.
There was no restaurant in the hotel, not even a place to get a cup of coffee. Next door there was a great retaurant, Sam's chowder house, we had a nice seafood dinner there. Apart from that, it seems as you have to go in to Half Moon Bay to get enything to eat. The room was, however, equipped with both a fridge and a microwave, so we did get some stuff that we could eat in the roon. (Having been on the road for three weeks, we were getting a bit fed up with eatung out anyway.)
Parking was free, which was a plus. you could, by the way, hear a fog horn all the time, but no real problem for us.

first time I booked a hotel from on line discount, Ended up in a room with leaking shower facing highway and the only alternative was to rebook with a higher nightly fee - felt like this was not worth the hassle of online effort
in addition - no air conditioning supposedly for the lovely ocean breeze - which in essence added a dampness to what was supposed to be a higher end hotel

This was our first weekend away from our newborn baby. This hotel was perfect because it was only 40 mins away from us. We can quickly go to my in-laws to check on the baby if needed. The hotel room was nice and cozy especially with the fireplace. The bed was very comfortable. I especially love waking up in the morning and just gazing out at the bay eating my complimentary continental breakfast. Nearby there is a great restaurant - Sam's Chowder House. The Beach House is the perfect place to just relax and spend quality time with your partner. I highly recommend it.

The beaches of Half Moon Bay are a place for locals.
Our room was, as advertised, and the staff was friendly. The hotel is squeezed in against the highway and is quite close to an occasionally noisy bar/restaurant with live music.
