“Better than we imagined!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2008

Our first time to CA and out of all the places we could've stayed, we were so glad to have picked the perfect one!
Classy yet quaint, the Pacific Victorian was just what we needed in a 'home away from home.' In fact, we slept better on that bed than our own!
All the amenities were perfect, the rooms spotless, the service and hospitality more than we could have expected. Jeff and Lori were more than helpful each day suggesting places to eat, shop, and sight-see, as well as all kinds of local shortcuts and tips.
We felt very welcome and made ourselves at home right away, borrowing from the large DVD collection, partaking in the afternoon wine, and even enjoying breakfast while in our socks! (despite the beautiful, fancy dining room which was more cozy than intimidating.) All the rooms are very impressive and beautifully decorated.
Oh, and the breakfast.... no words to describe how scrumptious it was! Bring your appetite and don't miss out on the fresh fruit!
The location was great too. We enjoyed a nice walk along the coast and toured downtown Main Street more than once. A friendly little town with hardly any chain stores, and near enough to all kinds of sights and tourist spots.
The perfect place to stay if you're looking for something that feels far from city life, yet only a 25 minute scenic drive to San Francisco.
If you're debating between this and a regular hotel, this is soo worth the few extra bucks you might spend (the breakfast alone is worth it!!) And between this and another B&B maybe a few steps closer to the ocean... save the extra money and enjoy the beautiful 5 minute neighborhood walk.
A wonderful, unforgettable experience we recommend for all ages.

My wife and I spent a weekend here for our wedding anniversary, and we enjoyed every minute of it. The rooms are very nice, clean and comfortable, the owner/manager is very easygoing and gracious, and the breakfast is outstanding. We'd highly recommend the Pacific Victorian.

Our stay was excellent the moment you walk in you see a VERY clean cozy home. The owners are kind and full of information about the area and completely open with the house. They had a great way of making you feel welcome. The rooms are not large but large enough and very well decorated and you have to try the Jacuzzi tub! You want for nothing and you would think the breakfast was prepared by a master chief. The breakfast was HUGE with all the trimmings. The Eggs Benedict (the sauce is home made with a special recipe) and the French toast was (with heated syrup) some of the best I have had and it melted in your mouth! Fruit was always fresh and there was more coffee and orange juice than you could drink! We always felt as if we were with friends rather than just tenants. There is a large Video collection for you to enjoy if you just want to relax and let me tell you……The Beds are the best I have slept in at any hotel the sheets feel like cotton silk and the mattress was like sleeping on a cloud! It made it hard to get out of bed! Everything is close by food and great walks on the beach are just a step away! I recommend the Pacific Victorian Bed and Breakfast to anyone looking to just get away and relax!!!

The Pacific Victorian Bed and Breakfast is a great getaway place to stay and decompress for a night, a weekend or several days. Altho’ only about 30 mi. south of San Francisco, the Inn’s location at Miramar Beach seems much more distant from the demands and stresses of the City. It is newer construction built to resemble a Victorian mansion and the furnishings throughout the Inn are in keeping with the Victorian style with floral wallpaper, dark wood furniture, pedestal sinks, beautifully detailed curtains, and architectural embellishments that reflect the early 1900’s period.

The Inn has but 4 rooms, all on the upper floor. We stayed in the Bay Room which reflects its large bay window rather than its view--altho’ we did have a peek of the ocean (a couple blocks distant) from our small balcony. Even tho’ all 4 rooms were booked the Sat. night of our stay, we heard virtually no sounds of other guests, it was that quiet. In fact, the most resonating sound was the foghorn in the distance, and that wasn’t obtrusive. The comfortable queen bed took up much of the floor space in our room and there was just enough walking space between the closet and the bed. But due to the room’s brightness courtesy of the bay window, the room didn’t feel cramped. There was a TV, DVD player and phone in the room. The bath was a fair size and my husband enjoyed the deep, powerfully-jetted whirlpool bathtub which even had a small foam pillow--quite relaxing, he said!

The innkeepers/owners, Jeff and Lori, were very cordial and helpful. We were able to arrange for an early check-in as we were attending an afternoon wedding the same day we arrived. The ample breakfast our hosts prepared was delicious, and Jeff said that an upcoming recipe book featuring B&B Inns would be including one of their specialties, the Eggs Benedict. I had that dish and it was great! They provide a menu the night before and guests are able to select from a number of breakfast items--a very nice touch.

There is a small parking area behind the Inn and it was convenient to have this offstreet parking, altho’ the (almost rural-like) road was extremely quiet since it’s not a through street.

Lunch or dinner at the nearby Miramar Beach Restaurant (which used to be a Speakeasy during Prohibition) is highly recommended. Good food, great views and interesting old photos adorn the bar area. The restaurant is right on the water. If you’re seeking a nice, relaxing walk there’s the 5 mi. Coastal Trail that goes along the ocean bluffs from Pillar Point Harbor so. to Half Moon Bay. There’s also a scenic walk beginning at Pillar Point Marsh’s parking lot off West Point Ave. You’ll see numerous seabirds, sea lions, and canine as well as human walkers taking to the sandy beach past the breakwater. The jagged offshore rocks and very steep cliffs make the area particularly picturesque. Whether you choose to do a lot or very little during your stay, the Pacific Victorian is a great base.
