“Very Good ....... But Not By Much”
I took the advice of a local and headed to the Miramar Beach Restaurant and Bar for an evening meal. I chose to sit at the bar and have a beer and a couple of appetizers. Staff was friendly and polite. Beer (a local draft amber ale selection from a San Francisco brewery) was cold and tasty. The location was right on the ocean. The view was fantastic.
Indoor, the decor of the restaurant was a little dated, but okay.
I had the seafood chowder which was served hot. I had hoped for a little more seafood in my chowder than the overload of potato. Flavor was good, but could have been further developed.
I also enjoyed a dungeness crab cake. It was good, but not great. Again, I believe the flavors could have been more developed with proper seasoning. I thought it was fairly bland.
To me, the best part of the crab cake plate was the course shredded cole slaw served as a side. It was crisp and had a flavorful dressing.
I guess my overall view is that location is better than the food. But my food was not bad, just not great.
