Description: The Historic Miramar Beach Restaurant & Bar has a long and colorful history going back more than 70 years. It was originally designed and built as a Prohibition speakeasy to serve the liquor smuggled into the Bay Area through a drop off point on Miramar Beach. We have kept the historical ambiance and decor of the 1920s including an incomparable collection of photos from the era. With only a frontage road between us and the beautiful Pacific Ocean, we have the number one view and sunset on the Coast side. Check out our website at www.miramarbeachrestaurant.com.

“No return for us”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2012

8 of us, celebrating my special birthday with my family. Setting: food _ average, bad service, very slow service, waited for 90 minutes for our main meal to arrive, with two very hungry kids (age 5 and 7). The waitress, attractive looking blond with an accent and no smile, was unfriendly, not well trained, if at all, not helpful, never told us about the kids menu, so finally when their pasta dish arrived , they did not eat it, since it was spicy with all kind of aditions that the kids don't eat. She did not follow up with our requests for the ice cream for kids, served my ice cream in a cafeteria style cup... never aske if we want coffee....
extremely disapponting and costly ($350) visit. Never again!

“Awesome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2012

This is an old world restaurant right at the edge of the ocean. On a good sunset day, the window tables would be awesome to watch the perfect sunset. When we were there, the cloud cover was so thick and heavy could only see a small reflection of the sunset. The food is awesome, I would not hesitate to return, we were well taken care of. There is a gentleman who is playing the piano but it is not overbearing where you cannot talk to the person next to you. Everything about the meal, service and location is well worth the trip to Half Moon Bay.

“Great Location Overlooking the Beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2012

It was a glorious, sunny January afternoon when four of us dined alfresco for a late lunch with a view. Our friends announced their engagement! The patio is the best place to sit when the weather is warm as the interior of the restaurant is dark. Margarita was flavorful and a great size. The Crab Louie was piled high with fresh Dungeness, locally caught and the cheese bread was warm, gooey, and tasty. Each entrée was well prepared and presented with friendly wait service. Make sure to stroll along the beach or promenade for a relaxing excursion.

“sunset dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2012

piano playing during a leaisurely, sunset dinner enhanced the atmosphere. Food was excellent. We had a window table facing the beach.

“Hoped for local seafood”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2012

Was there on a Monday night. Right on the ocean, good food and friendly service, hoped for local seafood but they didn't have any that night.
