“Luxury Suite photos”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2009

Had a very nice stay, but could not find any photos of the luxury suite before our trip. Made sure to take some when I got to HMB to post here.

We had an amazing time at the Ritz at Half Moon Bay. Expectations are always high for a hotel of this quality, but the staff really out-did all of ours. Selecting room with Club access is definitely the way to go as the food and beverages supplied throughout the day make for a convenient (and affordable) experience.

We can't wait to go back. Thanks Ritz Carlton!

We had always wanted to stay at the the new Ritz at Half Moon Bay and we finally made time this summer. It was a sweet getaway for the entire family. ALl of the staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the bed was heaven with down everything. My husband played golf all day on Sunday. He enjoyed himself so much that he ended up playing another round, 36 holes in all! I enjoyed the super relaxing spa for most of the time. I also took advantage of the pilates & yoga classes, which were included in the price of the stay. I ended up receiving 2 private classes, because I was the only one there. Lucky me! Our entire family enjoyed the heated pool, which is indoors, but with high glass ceilings. The views are amazing. We all went on an easy walk above the cliffs of the ocean and watched sunset. One of the highlights for my 7-year-old son was ordering smores from room service, which is totally worth the money. We had our own fancy fire pit outside our room and they were the best smores I have ever eaten! Seriously, It doesn't get much better than this. If you are heading back into San Francisco after this luxurious getaway, you might to check your head back into reality by first stopping off at Tres Amigos, in Half Moon Bay, which is some of the best Mexican food for super great prices.

I visited the Ritz Carlton, Half Moon Bay in November 2008 for an anniversary and could not have asked for more. The service, quality of the hotel and rooms and restaurants are all top-notch. I proposed to my fiance along the bluffs of the property on our first night and thanks to the Ritz, it went perfectly. They even placed rose pedals on our bed in the shape of our initials to great us when we returned to the room.

Our Cottage Room was amazing - large, clean and had a great warmth. We spent hours sitting by our patio fireplace admiring the amazing views. We look forward to visiting the Ritz HMB again soon!!!

We booked 2 nights at the Ritz to celebrate our 15 year anniversary. Upon driving up to the hotel we stopped at the portico where the attendant asked our names and then wished us a Happy Anniversary! Nice personal touch and we hadn't even gotten out of the car yet. We arrived on a Wednesday and since they didn't seem to be too busy I asked if we were able to get a room with a firepit. The girls at the front desk were very accommodating and did end up finding us a room with a firepit without charging us for the upgrade!! Wow! Now we are super impressed and haven't even gotten to our room yet. Of course our room was amazing, the view was right on the 18th hole, which was entertaining to watch as we sat by our firepit, as well as overlooked the ocean too! The grounds are equally amazing. We didn't eat at any of the restaurants at the hotel because we felt they were ridiculously priced ($20 for a burger) however, the limo company that the Ritz uses as their complimentary house car was quite a treat! We never had to wait more than a couple of minutes, if at all, and we would then drive into downtown and enjoy one of the local restaurants there.

My review will be very similar to the couple who spent their 21st Anniversary here!
On 09/09/09 we splurged and chose the Ritz to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We also were greeted by name by the valet and again when we checked in, both wishing us a Happy Anniversary and offering us a glass of wine. Being midweek, the hotel was not very crowded (and rooms are discounted much more during the week.) We arrived early, and our room was not quite ready. Since we were also staying in a Club Access Room (sooo worth it, by the way), we got to go straight to the Club Lounge where we were greeted with champagne and what was "supposed" to be snacks, but instead was like a full luncheon buffet! And the view from the Lounge - spectacular! We didn't mind at all that our room was not ready yet. Servers came around, refilling our glasses, asking if we needed anything else. The front desk called the Lounge personnel when our room was ready and we just walked a few steps down the hall to our beautiful ocean view room. We had one of the few rooms that had a small balcony that looked over the gorgeous gardens with fire pit areas and a gazebo and the ocean as a backdrop.

The Only thing that was a little disappointing about our room was the tub. While the spacious bathroom was beautiful - marble floors, seperate glass shower and toilet with a door - the bathtub, which was nice - was not a spa, and not big enough for two.

But the best thing about our room is that we spent a little extra to get Club Access and our key let us enter the Lounge all throughout the day (and night). You literally did not have to make any arrangements for lunch, dinner or breakfast because the lounge supplied everything you could want. At dinner time there was another spread of what was supposed to be appetizers, and now, besides champagne and wine, there was top shelf liquor and mixers to make a drink (or two, or three..Hey, we were celebrating and our room was just down the hall) again, all included. In the evening, after diner drinks/liqueur and a huge variety of desserts to choose from, including not one, but two chocolate fondue's. Then in the morning, a lavash breakfast, really like a brunch. So agian, I would have to say, spend the extra money, which really wasn't that much (I think $50.00) and go get a Club Access room.

Not knowing that the lounge was going to have such plentiful offerings, we had made reservations at Navio, ordered a light meal, and without saying anything, dessert with Happy Anniversary written on our plate was brought to our table, along with a wrapped box of chocolate. Then when we returned to our room, our bed had been covered with rose petals in a shape of a heart, a box of chocolate dipped strawberries and a Happy Anniversary card written for us and signed by the staff. They REALLY cater to you, especially for special occasions, so do mention anything that you are celebrating when making a reservation.

Yes, this place is not cheap, but it really is first class. The location is beautiful, especially if you luck out have nice weather, which is kind of hit or miss for this area. Yes, this is a paradise for a golfer, I suppose, but for those of you who are not, like us, you can come just to relax, take a walk along the ocean to the beach access area or go to the spa - It really is worth the splurge!

The staff was amazing in every way, always very polite and smiling, ready to help or answer a question.
The Valet men are all dressed like Golfers from the 20's era, as soon as you step out of your car you feel like you've been transported to another time, it's so wonderful. The Hotel itself sits high on a cliff overlooking the Golf Links and the Ocean, what more could we ask for?
Upon arrival the front desk clerk offered us a glass of wine to sample (what a wonderful way to check in!!!!)
When we arrived to our room, someone had already set up a crib for our daughter, with little extra baby toiletries and toys.
We opted to pay a little extra and gain Club Lounge access, it was totally worth it.....the Club Lounge was truly wonderful, so relaxing and the manager of the Club Lounge Carmen is so very attentive and friendly; we look forward to seeing her again next time we are in town.
The fire pits at night are very inviting, my only complaint is that there are never enough blankets around.
Overall, i loved our stay, the grounds, the staff, the food, everything...i can't see myself staying anywhere else the next time we are in the area!!!
