“Nice aesthetics and manager but loud and needs attention to details”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2011

Great location right on the water. Owners have clearly worked to upgrade this place, remodeled the rooms/baths with nice fixtures, and added nice plantings. Manager went out of his way to help with a special request.

Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the bathroom, doors, walkways, etc. weren't up to the same standard.

Also, nice soaking tub, but not enough hot water available to fill it halfway (starts out warm at best, then faucet output gets cooler and cooler).

Read the reviews about the "foghorn" and thought "no problem, I love the deep, mellow sound of coastal foghorns." Well it's not. The lighthouse signal is more like a voice mail beep on steroids 24/7. Hotel is right under the landing path of the small local airport. Flights stopped by about 10:30pm, but the combination of the two noises made it impossible to relax in the room and on the balcony during the day/evening.

Room Tip: Get a second floor room unless you have a dog or want a patio overlooking urine-killed grass

“A touch of serenity.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2011

We loved the Inn! The sound of the fog horn is the best addition along with the bay waves hitting the shore. Dinner at Barbara's Fish Trap is highly recommended if you want good, fresh seafood. The room was so clean and very nicely decorated. Very nice sized room and friendly staff. Sitting at the fire pit should put you to sleep. It felt like we unplugged for the weekend and enjoyed it! Thank you.

Room Tip: they are all

“Hmmmm....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2011

So, we decided to stay at this inn for a couple nights in June. I was a little worried about the other reviewers comments about the fog horn as I'm a light sleeper too. But honestly, the fog horn was not such a big thing. The rooms are nice and updated and clean and open right onto the waterfront, so it was really a perfect location. The ameneties were terrific.

Unfortunately two little things that would probably preclude us from returning. The first is that it's a very dog friendly inn. Great if you are a dog person, but if you have allergies, it's a little off putting. And the yellow spots on the lawn and the doggie poop were more than a little off putting.

The other thing, and this is really a big thing, is that it sounds like there is no insulation between the upper and lower floors. The people above us were like clod hoppers until 1 in the morning. And they were using the bathtub from about 11 PM till 1 AM like this: fill the tub. soak for a while, (and I'm not kidding you, you could hear their bum squeaking on the tub bottom), let a little water out, turn on the water to refill, and repeat for a couple hours. Every time they turned on the water, the pipes would slam.

I guess, if you stayed on the upper floor, it wouldn't be so bad, but I actually asked the innkeeper when making my ressie about the sounds from above and he assured me there were none.

Room Tip: Choose upstairs, on one of the ends, if possible.

“Wonderful!”

Loved the view, the rooms were gorgeous and the fire pit outside was wonderful. Allan (the innkeeper) could not have been more helpful and accommodating! Would definitely come back!

“Unique location, wonderful view, charming seaside experience.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2011

Inn keeper is very friendly and offers good restaurant advise! The evening we were there it was a little stormy with wind and rain but in the morning the sub was out the birds were up and fishing and we were able to get out on our little balcony and take in the view. We later went to breakfast at the 3-Zero Cafe (recommended by the inn keeper) which was exceptional. A must do! From there we walked 'round to Maverick's beach - lovely walk, friendly people along the way.
