There are lots of small problems, such as the sprawling bar area looking as if was reaching its last years, cash only and no credit cards accepted, and no bar service outside. But you don't go to Stumptown Grill for upscale dining. The beer list is good, and there is ordinary wine for those who skip beer. The food was above average. A wedge salad was double the normal size, a brisket au jus in French roll was pretty good, a BLT was excellent and the humus plate with pita wedges was very good. Sitting outside the bar, on the deck, to watch the river made drinks and food seem even better. My wife ordered for the three of us, brought out a bucket with cutlery and mustard/katchup, napkins and so on, and went back to the bar for refills on the drinks while food was brought to us by a waitress after we had ordered and paid cash for it at the bar. The setting is very casual and relaxed, fun when you like beer outside and don't need formality.
