“Simply Fabulous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2014

This was our 2nd visit to St Orres and the food and ambiance were both incredible. The heirloom tomato salad was incredible, The Jack Daniels Ice Cream Caramel Sundae was to die. We were not that impressed when we dined here several years ago. This latest trip more than made up for it!

“Consistantly the best for a special night out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary dinner at St. Orres. As always, it was very pleasant and a nice evening and special meal. We live locally and usually come for their small plates but this time ordered from their prix fix menu. He loved the rack of lamb and I had an excellent salmon. It is all good.

I do think the full dinner if a bit pricey but we love going for small plates. We find that one each plus a salad to share is plenty. That allows us to experience the exceptional food without spending so much. We find because of this we go often for small plates. Either way, it is our nicest place to spend the evening.

“Beautiful Russian Restaurant/Inn Right on the Coast!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2014

Great Russian inspired building on the coast with some of the best food available in the area. Definitely worth going to visit the bar or for dinning just for the atmosphere alone. It would definitely be one of the more fancy and nice places in the area for a special occasion or celebration. They have a very good menu with local fish and game focus. It was not particularly Russian so it was disappointing in that respect. However, our party had abalone, fresh soups, beef, boar, stuffed pheasant, fish tacos and the kids had good spaghetti and clams and other good selections. All the plates had fancy presentation and the service was very helpful, prompt and helpful. We sent one beef plate back and no issue at all which is very nice. Overall, pretty good food and unique. It was slightly hit and miss with some plates...for example, my pheasant was nicely presented and interesting selection but the taste was only good. I am still glad I tried it. The abalone was great and I would recommend that if it is available. Overall, one of the best locations you will have visiting Gualal/Sea Ranch. Definitely recommend just to experience the atmosphere.

“Special occasion dining on the coast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2014

This is the local special occasion place near Gualala/Sea Ranch. It is in a romantic setting of a quirky, Russian Orthodox-inspired wooden inn complete with onion domes and high ceilings. The menu sometimes features local game like venison. The food ranges from good to great. I particularly enjoy their brunches, with excellently executed brunch classics served with flair and distinction. In an area of the North Sonoma/South Mendocino coast, just off Highway 1, where we have few choices, this is one of the best, and a good place for a romantic meal.

“The food and service were very good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2014

The dining room was flooded with evening sun and the stained glass windows were very pretty. The room with its onion dome and ceiling stained glass was distinctive and nice. Except for the art by Heidi Edleman, which was seriously disturbing. We had an outstanding server, a woman who lived in Anchor Bay. We were brought homemade bread with yummy olive oil from the Corto Olive Oil Co. We ordered a bottle of Wild Hog (Nova Vineyards) 2010 Montepulciano (Dunnigan Hills) Sonoma that was very good and reminiscent of the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo we drank in Italy. Dinner came with a salad and a soup. We shared everything as usual and ordered the garlic and mushroom flan to start and it was truly delicious—intensely flavorful. The salad came next. It was 1 sliced heirloom tomato, 2 small burrata mozzarella balls, 1 cherry tomato and a splash of pesto, enough for the two of us. The roasted red pepper soup was also very good and a large portion. For our main course we ordered the quail. There were two, with sautéed vegetables and rice (Audre thinks). Each dish was very good to excellent and with the excellent service, the meal was outstanding. We were so stuffed we couldn’t order dessert! We spent $110.31 plus tip.
