“A Yosemite Bargain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2010

We just returned from a CA vacation and three days at Yosemite. Our stay was enhanced by our accommodations at Yosemite Westgate Lodge. What a deal and what a lovely place to stay. The new manager has taken time and resources to create a family friendly atmosphere and a great deal. The place has been remodelled with a few more touches to come to make the place unique and inviting (the manager shared some of his ideas with me). There are ceramic floors, granite counter top and shower walls, a microwave, fridge, a reasonable coffee pot in the rooms. Add to that a guest coin operated laundry area, a nice little pool and being located 13 miles from the entrance to Yosemite and it is the makings of a great value in a family friendly atmosphere.

Stayed here with two other families before and after a rafting trip on the Tuolumne. This is a really good "stopover" hotel - good pool for the kids, clean laundry facilities with 3(!) washers, modernized rooms, easy parking, close to Yosemite. The hotel is well maintained and family-run to a high standard. Downsides: no free breakfast (must go to over-priced diner next door) and no real "Yosemite" atmosphere. If you're looking for a wild-west style, then stay in the older hotels in Groveland.

My wife and I stayed here the night before we went into Yosemite National Park. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly. The location was perfect, just 12 miles outside the west entrance to Yosemite. We would absolutely stay here again.

This is a great hotel that is located about 45 minutes from Yosemite Valley. It stands alone with not much around it, but there are a few other hotels/restaurants about 12 miles away. There is also a restaurant right next to the hotel that we didn't try. The rooms are clean, the pool and hot tub are nice and clean. We only stayed one night, but would definitely stay at the hotel next time we visit.

Newly remodeled, fresh and clean. Excellent location, just 14 miles from Yosemite entrance. Beds quite comfortable, swimming pool small but nice with separate jacuzzi and pool at good temperature. Grounds well kept, staff very pleasant and quite helpful. Rooms have free wifi that works perfectly which was incredible as none of our cell phones worked any where in the area and we were finally able to reach family. One thing that may seem silly but I really did appreciate was the "clean" remote--a special remote for the TV that was designed to be easy to clean and looked spotless. We would definitely stay here again. We spent two days in Yosemite and traveled back here each evening to refresh and regroup.

My three sons and I arranged a last minute visit to yosemite and needed a place to stay. Chose Westgate Lodge because of availability and proximity to park. We were all pleasantly surprised by the helpful assistance of Raj the Owners son and the cleanliness of the property. Raj provided us with recommendations on how to spend our time exploring Yosemite. the room was clean and comfortable. Wifi was available free but somewhat sketchy depending on where you were at the property. the kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub. breakfast at the adjacent restaurant was very good and stress free. We would highly recommend this property for a visit to yosemite...we would stay again.

We had a great stay! Our room was recently renovated, immaculate and huge. My children's room The front desk was really helpful and full of good information. The pool and hot tub were great and so refreshing after a day of trekking. The unrelated restaurant was a great perk and offered comfort food, American Shuffleboard(!), and a great, informative barmaid. Would absolutely stay again!
