“Wonderful Hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

I was exiting Yosemite after a 4 day solo backpacking trip and wanting peace, quiet, and a pleasant environment: the Berkshire gave me all of this. The welcoming staff stay in the background, but are there immediately when you need them. The decor of the house is lovely, and while the lack of TVs in a room may seem to be a downside, it's not: there's a big TV in the den that anyone can watch. I had a lovely chat with one of the owners about the hard work of bulldozing he did during the recent fires; it made me very appreciative of small town community spirit and the risks people are willing to take on behalf of others. All and all, very positive and definitely on my return list.

Room Tip: Front room has a lovely balcony but is more exposed to road noise. All 3 rooms are nice in unique w...

I stayed in the bed and breakfast style inn while covering wildland fires in nearby forests and Yosemite. It is picturesque, clean and well-maintained. But, more than that the staff is very attentive. For example, when they learned I had to work on east coast time that meant leaving at 2:30AM they made sure fresh coffee and continental breakfast were ready and waiting for me. Individual rooms are nice, but have no TV or air conditioning. A/C is not really needed. They do have central heat. It is very convenient to Yosemite and the surrounding area.

Room Tip: See if one with a veranda is available.

We stayed at this place by accident due to route 120 being closed because of fire this August 19, 2013 near Yosemite. The service was wonderful. They put 2 mattresses on the floor to accommodate 4 of us. Breakfast was wonderful with good selection, stunning views, it was nice to eat breakfast with other travelers and you get a home-like feeling there also. We also had entrance to a large balcony which had a refrigerator where you could store food items. Just a very nice experience and incidentally the least expensive place we stayed at (San Francisco, and Carmel also). I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a place near Yosemite.

We LOVED this place! It is located right on the road to Yosemite! It is beautifully situated on a hill with gorgeous views for your delicious morning breakfast, which was delicious. The room we had accommodated five people very well. The driveway was unbelievably steep. Not sure how they plow the snow in the winter.

We stayed here one night on our trip. It was great with the river right up the road. Beautiful and homey with great people to talk with when we arrived. Chris and Kevin were our great hosts and the deck was great to BBQ on. WE cant wait to go back. Thank you as always it was an awesome visit. I advise to ask were to go swimming... rainbow pools is great and not too far from the B&B. also if you are not the faint of heart go up and down OLD PRIEST GRADE. just to say you did it.

We have been travelling almost a month in California and when we arrived in the nearby of Yosemite we had really a hard time to find something correct to sleep, at the campground near Groveland they ask you 170$ + tax to sleep in a poor cabin!!! so when we finally found this bed &breakfast we have been so happy to find it clean, cosy and well decorated, staff super friendly, we felt lucky to finally arrive here!

Stayed here on a trip to Yosemite. Recommended by a helpful lady in the tourist information office who assisted with the booking. Yes, it wasn't the cheapest hotel, but excellent sized rooms, great breakfast and made to feel as though we were visiting someone's home. The peace and quiet after downtown San Francisco was a blessing.
Would thoroughly recommend.

Room Tip: They're all good !
