“Great Yosemite Apartments”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

We were fortunate to stumble across the Hotel Charlotte while searching for Yosemite accommodation. The Hotel was fully booked, but the owners also have a number of apartments located within a couple of miles.

The seven of us probably could have stayed in one apartment, but we ended up booking two due to the very reasonable rates, one for each family, located right next door to each other. The apartments look new, are well stocked with everything we needed for 4 days away, were very clean and are clearly managed with care; good quality mattresses, PC, spotless bathroom and good decor made for a very comfortable stay.

In addition, we got hot breakfast included in the price, and the owners were very helpful with suggestions and advice for things to do.

All-in-all a great option for a Yosemite getaway.

Room Tip: We stayed in Cardamom. This apartment is dog-friendly, spotlessly clean and well maintained. There...

We stayed at one of their vaction rentals being we were six. The place was great and the location was perfect for touring Yosemite being only 20 or so miles away. Breakfast was at the hotel and was very good.

My wife and I ( and our beloved, quiet Chihuahua) spent two nights at the hotel in early December 2012. We were the only guests, but were treated wonderfully. Our room was comfortable and spacious, for an old hotel, with good WiFi and satellite TV. The restaurant was closed for dinner, but breakfast was made to order by Doug - eggs one day and sourdough pancakes the next. Good coffee, yogurts and breads.

We had dinner at a very good Mexican restaurant next door and drinks at the famous Iron Door Saloon across the street. The trip to Yosemite Village was about an hour each way, but the roads are good and it was nice to get back to Groveland, which has all the trappings of civilization.
We look forward to returning to Jen and Doug when they reopen the kitchen in the spring. We recommend the Hotel Charlotte as a great place to spend a few days.

Room Tip: Number 7 was a good size and close to the rear door and parking.

My family and I stayed here over thanksgiving weekend. I can not fault this place at all. We booked three days before arriving and had exceptional service from day 1. My children are aged 14,11 and 2 and we really felt like we were at someones home. The rooms were clean and charming, the sitting area downstairs was cosy and much loved by my two year old as he had easy access to the toys in the hotel. Breakfast was perfect, as was the open bar at any time. The owners were very attentive and they have a gorgeous puppy who was being very well trained to love everyone. A wonderful place to stay just outside of Yosemite National Park.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 2 and 4, right at the top of the stairs, but we never experienced any sort of nois...

We stayed in Room 6 without any events occurring. The room and hotel is known by workers at Yosemite too! There are stories out there about Charlotte and her appearing at night in room 6 and only disturbing men. We tried to provoke Charlotte to come out but I guess she doesn't like Indian men. My husband is from India.
The breakfast is nice, the rooms are comfortable, the inn owners are very friendly and helpful. We got a goody bag of coupons when we arrived which was nice. The restaurant was closed so the inn owners allowed us to bring in take out and eat it in the dining area. There is coffee and tea service all day. We would stay there again. The town is quaint and rustic.

Room Tip: Room 6 sometimes at night might get a visitor named Charlotte

The hotel is very comfy. Our room had a beautiful stand alone bath. The continental breakfast is pretty good. Groveland itself is perfect for a night or two as a means to see yosemite. The town is about 30miles from yosemite.
