“Great place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

Recently my daughter had her wedding at the Evergreen Lodge. What a magnificent venue. The staff took care of every detail from rehearsal dinner to reception. The warm August days and cool evenings were perfect and there was plenty to do for everyone; pool, zip line for the kids, s'mores at the evening campfire.

It was just a 40 minute drive to side trips at Yosemite Valley and about 15 minutes to the Hetch Hetchy Dam with lots of hiking everywhere. Fortunately Evergreen was spared from the recent Rim Fire. I highly recommend it as a destination on its own or as a gateway to Yosemite NationL Park.

Room Tip: With two couples, we opted for the double cabin. The living area gave us extra room with a pull out...

The staff here are fantastic, super friendly and attentive. This is a great hotel, you get a cabin to yourself with a deck overlooking the park. It's clean and tidy, bathroom was fine, it's not luxury, but it is to a good standard. The breakfast is fantastic. It takes about 30 minutes to drive to Yosemite Village where the main sightseeing areas are, which we underestimated.

I stayed here just prior to the evacuation due to the rimfire.I found the staff very welcoming and helpful, especially Mary who checked me in.All the other staff, especially those in the recreation department I also found most helpful. My cabin was very clean, comfortable and quiet, close to the pool and observation deck. The pool and jacuzzi are great, with a poolside bar and nightly BBQ,although of course as the fire grew they had to shut down the bar/BBQ in case of evacuation. There are many excellent hiking trails close by.This is my 10th visit to Yosemite and my first to Hetch Hetchy.I also hiked in the high country near Tenaya Lake and from the valley early in the morning. In peak season I would suggest getting on the road before 730.I also noticed during my stay some fun things for the kids to do in the Lodge Grounds. The restauarant is also great, try to get an outside table.I hope to stay here again next September.

Room Tip: I liked the location of my room(M6)within easy walk of the pool, observation deck and ammenities.

What a great place in (or rather nearby) Yosemite NP! We had a family cabin and is was perfect. The swimming pool is excellent and the BBQ alongside the swimming pool was delicious. We were very glad to hear that the Rimfire did not destroy Evergreen Lodge because we would return here any day.

This is our second visit to the Evergreen lodge and it was so relaxing. It is a quiet, but very kid friendly resort. We have a 2 and a 4 year old and they had the best time. We made use of the beautiful pool multiple times as well as the rec. center, s'mores and movie night. The rooms were always clean (though it was a bit later in the day). Even though it is a downfall to some people, the lack of Internet access was a wonderful break in my opinion. The food in the restaurant was well priced for being the only option. We would love to go back one day as my kids still speak of it often.

Had a fantastic time at Evergreen Lodge in August on a once in the lifetime trip to the USA. It's impossible not to be charmed by the place on arrival. The reception, restaurants, recreation building and lodges have been designed to be sympathetic to the environment and sit in harmony with the redwoods that dominate the area. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming and eager to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.

You are not able to cook on site due to the risk of encouraging bear activity but the between the shop and the restaurant we were able to eat well and economically.

Even though it is just a short distance outside the Park boundary, it is well situated to strike out to many of the main sites. It also benefits from being at a higher altitude and was therefore cooler than the valley floor.

If we ever get the chance to go back to the US it would be the first part of the trip I would put in place. BTW we also saw some bears ;-)

Room Tip: We chose to camp. The tent comes with comfortable beds, brushed cotton sleeping bags and a kit bag w...

We stayed in great cabin with 5 people and enjoyed everything about the Lodge. Food and service were good and reasonably priced. Pool was great especially after long hikes. Staff was knowledgeable and always willing to offer advice.

Green Features: Dual flush toilets! Looks like they are paying close attention to keeping the surroundings as natural as possible.
