Wow! Talking about a ripoff, where shall I begin. We arrived late in the evening to a ground floor room with paper thin walls. We were greeted by screams of a baby above us that went on until 11:00 pm.
The room it self had furniture Denny's 1970's style. Yes, that is right the type of furniture that would prevent you loitering around. With that said, we dropped our children off at UCSB and went out until we had to go to sleep. Also, we turned up the sheets and noticed that they were not cleaned. (I love sleeping in a bed with someone else's stray pubic hairs.) And upon going to the toilet, noticed a floating condom.in the toilet. That could either have been from one or two things. A. The maid didn't come in and cleanup, or B. Because of the drought and the low flush toilets, it would not go down. So,, I therefore flushed the toilet and concluded it was A. We tried complaining to the front desk, but that was absolutely useless. So here it is a complaint that will prevent everyone from coming to this hotel.
Upon waking up in the morning, we were greeted by an army of cockroaches. Really not a pleasant surprise.
I am not a fan of AirBNB and it's libertarian practices in the disguise as the "Sharing Economy" (Go Stanford!) but next time I go to visit my son, and he doesn't have room or a stray couch to offer me, I will use AirBNB instead. The cleanliness of an Isla Vista Frat flat will be clean in comparison to what I had just experienced.
