“Nice tour and excellent wines!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2013

We came here in December and were the only two people on the tour. Lots of information shared about the biodynamic practices on this vineyard. I only wished the guide had stopped his jokes he probably has to tell to the larger summer crowds and rather focus on our questions. The caves are interesting and the winery is beautiful. I really enjoyed the tasting of five wines, not pushy and the server was very friendly and chatty. I ended up buying several bottles and will look for their wines in stores back home.

“Local Favorite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013

The winery is situated on the way up to Jack London State Park from the village of Glen Ellen. It has a great vineyard/winery tour on a tractor-pulled trailer, very nice picnic grounds, lovely gardens and, oh yes, the wines to be tasted are very good... We always make it a point to take our out-of-town guests here. They always tell us that it was one of their favourite wineries to visit. I recommend the upgrade to the Partners Tour.

“Great Wine Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

This was the first tour we went on during our vacation, so we sprung for the Partners Tour which gave you a more in depth look at the vineyard, a better tasting and a smaller group. We were very lucky the harvest was going on the day we visited.

The winery and vineyards are beautiful, we spent a little time prior to the tour walking through the self guided biodynamic gardens which was very pretty, serene and shared a lot of info about the whole process.

After seeing the harvest we entered the caves, heard how the wine in aged and mixed and then sat down for an additional tasting in a special room within the cave.

After the tour, we went to the regular tasting room and had a couple of other wines. Of course, we walked out buying a couple of bottles. When we realized at the end of our trip we needed more bottles, we choose to buy them from Benziger, not any of the other wineries we visited.

It was a great way to start our vacation on such a pretty day

“Partners Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

We really enjoyed the Partners Tour at Benziger and the knowledge and detail of our host Gary. The tastings along the tour and in the cave were outstanding. We will attend another Partners Tour next year.
