“Amazing place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012 via mobile

Amazing place! We stayed in room 8 which faces the back, which I preferred cause it feels like you have your own little backyard. As you exit the room you have a little private outside area where you can relax. Rooms were amazing, from everything like the bed, shower, huge tv, very spacious + I loved the Modern design. Property is surrounded by green & nature, Linda at reception was lovely and helpful and the breakfast is absolutely delicious. And the free wine + olives are a nice touch.

Would definitely come back!

Wonderful hotel. Clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The hosts were very welcoming and genuinely interested in the guests' comfort. Beautiful, quiet setting and very convenient to Sonoma wineries. Breakfast was delicious. All in all a wonderful stay.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights at the Olea during our recent trip to wine country. As this was our first experience at this size of a hotel (10 rooms), we weren't quite sure what we were getting into. All of our qualms quickly vanished during check-in. The host was incredibly friendly and very courteous and his warm tour of the property eroded any fears we might have had. The hotel had that personal feel as the entire staff was helpful and willing to go out of the way to help, but they weren't overwhelming. The rooms were separate from the lobby and common areas so we only felt like we were at a B&B when we wanted to have that personal feel. We would both recommend this hotel to others traveling in the area looking for a nice romantic getaway. The complimentary breakfast was awesome, and way more than we expected.

Couldn't have asked for more from our 2 day stay. Graciously greeted with wine and snacks, beautifiully appointed rooms and bath, very luxurious. Hosts on hand and personally engaged. Breakfast was out of this world. Evening desert wine tastings with delicious desert treat to accompany. Hosts fun to hang out with and tendered helpful advice on restaurants, vineyard tours, activities closeby. Gourmet yet very accessible restaurants within walking distance. Outdoor sitting areas very comfortable and serene. Glen Ellen a neat, off the beaten track but easy to get to area. Wine country the way it's supposed to be. Would return in a minute.

Room Tip: Stayed in room #8, rear corner king, very private and quiet

We spent two nights at one of the queen-size-bedrooms at Olea hotel. The rooms have been remodeled very nicely, everything is new, the bed was great and the bathroom had high-end soap, shampoo etc. Overall the property was very clean and well kept. What stood out for us was:
1. The hospitality of the owners - they were very helpful with tips about activities in the area, made us feel at home and went out of their way to assist.
2. The breakfast! It was absolutely amazing - a two-course meal that was one of the best I'd ever had in any hotel. Way above my expectations.
We also enjoyed the Glen Ellen area (Would recommend the Fig Cafe).
This was a marvelous stay and we would definitely come back!

My wife and I wanted to stay in Glen Ellen to do some nearby wine tasting in Sonoma (we typically stay/taste in Napa). I am not exactly sure how I came across Olea Hotel, but I think I was searching for Bed and Breakfasts in Sonoma and this Hotel popped-up. Whatever the case, all I can tell you is that we were incredibly impressed with the hotel and our stay. Specifically:

1. When we checked-in we were greeted with wine and a great place near the lobby to hangout, picnic and relax. The staff (owner) that checked us in was incredibly nice and did his best to accomodate us.
2. We stayed in a cottage and it was awesome - it was a standalone room that was perfect for us. The room seemed 100% new and was very nice.
3. The grounds/lobby area of the hotel are very nice and seem high-end.
4. The breakfast in the morning was incredible - the chef is extremely talented and very nice.

Overall, our experience exceeded our expectations. The staff was nice, the room was great, and we'll definitely be back!

Room Tip: We loved the cottage - very private!

Olea is truly a destination hotel! We stayed in a cottage, which is separate from the rest of the hotel, nestled behind the jacuzzi area. The fruit trees and beautiful landscaping make it very private. The cottages are modern with big flat screen TVs and fireplaces. The EO products are a really nice touch - we smelled like lavender all weekend! This is no typical B&B with a continental or buffet breakfast. Instead, they serve a 2-course breakfast made to order. It was delicious! And they still have pastries, yogurt, etc. if you're in a hurry or want more food.
The Hotel has gorgeous grounds with views of the valley. The location is perfect for wine tasting in Sonoma, Glen Ellen or Kenwood. This is what I imagine people who reminisce about Napa before it became too touristy experienced... We had an incredible weekend. We were already planning our next trip on the drive home!
