“EXPENSIVE for garlic festival hotel price for motel room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012

It was close and easy to find, we could not check in early. Busy for the Gilroy Garlic Festival and VERY EXPENSIVE. (My brother booked it). It was clean, but our room 108 smelled when you walked in. (108). No hair dryer, shampoo is in tear open packets. Nice thick towels, no hair dryer. Free small Fridge in room, a plus, bed was comfortable, just enough parking. It is walkable to the Outlet Malls. The Garlic Festival was fun. Outlet malls are way expensive, Palm springs has much better deals. Eat at the Black Bear a few blocks up. AMAZING. ALl in all a nice experience but not one I care to repeat (except for the food at the Black Bear). For what we paid I would give it a poor, but we paid high because of demand, for $50 like what I see others have paid, it would be a good deal.

Nice price, nice host, but not a very nice place. Smelly outside because of burgerplace next door. The room was clean, but still kind of disgusting (old, worn down). Thin walls.

We just wanted to stay one night where near to the Premium Factory Outlets, Gilroy so that we picked this on Orbitz. After tax, we paid $50 with change which we thought it was what we wanted.

It's an old inn and little noisy. Parking and Internet was free of charge and very minimal choice of breakfast which we did not even have it while checking out the next day. Ask for the hair dryer if you need one, and check if there is funny smell before you use it.

There was an outdoor pool onsite but I doubted people would ever swim there. Ice machine was located downstairs and easy to find along with other vending machines. Upper level was accessible by stairs only which located to be part of the parking lot.

Denny's just across the street from the place, and 2 min walk to the nearest factory outlets (as Premium Outlets contained 3 sites). Wal-mart Supercentre and Target were 10 min drive from here.

Not much to say but if you've the money, stay somewhere else.

Staff was accommodating. Great location right next to outlet and In & Out burger. Can't beat the price, but you pay for what you get. Just a place to sleep after a full day of outlet shopping. The room was in desperate need of a renovation, especially the bathroom. There was a microwave and refrigerator (which leaked), but no blow dryer. I would recommend and return in the future only after a renovation.

I chose this hotel as it was close to the shopping outlets, but it was not worth it as the outlet is easy to drive to and park at. The first problem (of many) that I encountered, was the crib I had requested when making the booking was not available. When I checked in I was advised that all the cribs were broken. The staff member did offer to reduce the cost of the room, and because I was too tired to look for another hotel, my 6 month old slept the night on the floor. The room was in need of some serious maintenance and cleaning. The carpets we worn and dirty. The window curtain had partially fallen off its hooks. Some of the lights didn't work. The fridge was not plugged in and when we tried to move it to reach the power outlet, a gush of water came out. The remote control for the TV was missing. The noise from the nearby freeway could be heard all night. The complimentary breakfast was non-existent (unless you count juice as a meal). I realise that this is a budget hotel, but I stayed at much nicer hotels for around the same price in California. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.

  • Liked — Convenience to shopping outlets
  • Disliked — Complete lack of cleanliness and maintenance

Stopped at this hotel after arriving at SFO on route to vegas.

check in was very smooth and easy. paid $84 for the night.
left the room to go to the outlets. they are on the door step.

when we left the room found that the room door latch didn't come on and was therefore able to be opened without a key. we put valuables back in the car and went on to the shops.
after several bargains and a decent meal / beers at the applebees arrived back for a good sleep.

bed very comfy and the room was quite enough.

woke the next morning to pick my wallet etc from the table in the room. then noticed there were ants all over the thing.

that, unfortunately, was the lasting impression...

  • Liked — Walking distance to outlets / restaurants
  • Disliked — ants! and non locking door.
