My wife and I spent (2) nights at the Hilton Garden Inn Garden Grove while visiting the Disneyland Resort. For comfort, cost, and convenience, this hotel was perfect. Before tax, we paid $71 for our first night and $91 for our second using an AAA discount. Our room featured all standard amenities (i.e. TV, bed, iron, hairdryer) as well as some items I'd consider premium (i.e. temperature controlled A/C with on-wall thermostat; free high speed Internet). The hotel also provided all guests with a copy of the LA Times and USA Today on their doorstep each morning.
When I arrived, the hotel was quick to reward my Hilton Honors Diamond status, complying with all of my room location preferences as well as having my freebies (i.e. bottled water, breakfast coupons, etc.) ready. My wife and I took advantage of the continental breakfast in the Great American Grill both mornings we were at the hotel. The service was great as by day #2, the waitress had already memorized our coffee preferences.
For those going to Disneyland, the hotel is about 1 mile south of Katella Avenue, which is the southernmost boundary of Disneyland. The hotel is served by the Anaheim Resort transit system ($3/person/day), which drops off in the plaza at the front of California Adventure and Magic Kingdom. Other alternatives include walking (approx. 20 minutes on Harbor) or parking at Disney ($10/day). Parking at Downtown Disney (entrance is off Katella, a quarter mile west of Harbor) is free for the first 3 hours.
On our last night, we drove over the Anaheim Angels baseball stadium for their game against the Rangers. The hotel is no more than 2 miles from the park, a quick left on Harbor and a right on Orangewood takes you directly to the front of the park.
The hotel is part of a 3 building Hilton complex, featuring the Hilton Garden Inn, Embassy Suites, and Hampton Inn. Overall, this is great place to stay and my wife and I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else upon our return to Disneyland.
