“Thank You To Guest Relations!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

We normally stay at the Disneyland Hotel for vacation. We didn't plan this trip as it was the result of the death of a family member. We decided to stop and spend a few days at Disneyland with the family after spending a week on the east coast honoring our loved one. I wanted to keep everyone together and the Residence Inn has a terrific two bedroom family suite , with a kitchen and dining area, wifi, that I thought would be perfect for us. It was. Location was convenient, accommodations were spacious, nice flat screens in each room, and the kitchen is completely equipped if you would like to make meals. The complimentary breakfast is a hot buffet breakfast that changes slightly each day. We went down and brought it back up to our accommodations so we could eat privately as a family. My only hesitancy in booking here was it was not in the park, and we have a baby with us, but it was close enough we were fine. We did rent a car. We found it more convenient with a little one in a car seat. This is really a great family friendly hotel. The staff was very very nice and caring to my family . This was just a little stopover to cheer them up, and the flowers and the cookies were a complete surprise. Thank you so very much ! It is the little things that make a hotel experience so great, with aloha , from your Hawaii guests!

Room Tip: The two bedroom suites are a very good value. If you have AAA ask for that rate. If you do not, sign...

We usually now always stay at residence inn garden grove. we found this hotel about 6yrs ago when we had a problem with another hotel in area,we switced and were happy, weve been going back ever since. The staff is great and friendly, the hotel is pet friendly when we take our 2 small dogs, and its clean, great breakfast, bbqs, theres not really nothing wrong with the hotel.Itcan be a wait on some days waiting for elevator, but its not bad it goes fast. The rooms that have 2 bedroom suites,2 bathrooms is great, alot of room to move around, and its nice having the 2nd bathroom w/3girls,u know how that can be in mornings.i give the hotel 5 stars even though the elevators can be crowded at times, thats minor when someones looking for somewhere to stay thats nice, clean, friendly staff and good food for the price," its all worth it."

Room Tip: dont get room near elevators,or near st side unless u have to.The best rooms we found are on pool si...

We feel that no hotel in the area caters to large families like the Residence Inn by Marriott. The additional space enhances your trip by giving you room to relax after a long day. Thanks for the 5 star rating we truly appreciate your recommendation. Hope to have you and your family back soon.

Clean large rooms, fair price, great location
Rooms – had 2 beds and separate living room, very clean and spacious
Price – very fair for being a mile form Disneyland
Location – a quick 5 min taxi ride to Disney. Did not bother with driving, it was so quick by taxi. Plus the bus tickets for 4 cost more than the round trip taxi. Easy 30 min drive to Laguna Beach. Other beaches were closer.
Free breakfast – Gets very crowded after 8 am. But did sustain us and get us going early.

We couldn't say enough about how good our 8 night stay was at the end of July. The family room we had, although a little dated, had plenty of room for the wife, 2 teenage kids and myself. Free WIFI and wired internet services made life easy and the complimentary breakfasts and manager's dinners were great especially for those on a tight budget. Nothing was a problem for the staff and the hotel has a great bustling friendly energy. We will certainly be returning in the near future.

Although the ART was available to shuttle us back and forth to the Disney Parks and so on, as a family we found it more convenient (and less costly) to catch a taxi pretty much everywhere. As we discovered they are lined up pretty well all day at the Hyatt (at the rear of the hotel) and a short stroll can have you in a cab and on your way whenever you want. Disney Parks, Downtown Disney and The Outlets at Orange are about a $10 fare.

We did however have a problem getting picked up for tours. The tour companies will not always tell you exactly where they will pick you up in the morning. Don't assume they will pick you up at the Residence Inn. Some pickup on Harbour Blvd but most as we discovered pick up at the Hyatt (behind the hotel). My tip would be to confirm pickup location etc the day before to avoid any disappointment.

Overall a great place to stay. For first time travellers the kids had a fantastic time and the relaxed, friendly atmosphere of the Residence Inn went a long way towards make our vacation a memorable one. Cheers

Had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Stayed here with my mum and my 3 kids. My sister was also here with her family. The pool was nice although I noticed someone with swollen feet remove his bandages an get not the spa which was totally gross. Reception staff, housekeepers and fen the maintenance men were totally fantastic, friendly and helpful. This was nice as we found the service people in the Anaheim area were generally unfriendly and curt, it was nice to come to the hotel and an atmosphere of hospitality. Would definitely stay here again.

The area was good for Disneyland only and the drive to universal studios was far too long. Enjoyed the discovery science museum and the shopping at the outlets..

Room Tip: Check in earlier especially during peak season. Ask for a room far from the elevator for a quieter...

We are staying at the Residence Inn right now, and so happy about it! We already spent 3 nights out of our werk here, so I think I can sum it up quite well.
The suites are great for families - full kitchen, very functional and beautiful design for the living and sleeping area.
House keeping is very good - the room gets great cleaning everyday and every request get a quick and helpful response.
Upper floors Disney side have a great view of the Disney fireworks.
Only 2 cons about the room:
We are a family of 6 with 4 young children. According to the hotel the one bedroom suite will fit 6. Well, it will, but there is very little storage area, so we have to partly live out of our suitcases.
Also - and this is the main reason I took 1 star of the perfect 5 - the sofabed is so bad to sleep on! I am a very good sleeper, but still, wasn't able to sleep on it for the last 3 nights. When I approched the front desk about it, they did as much as they could to help and sent a replacement matress for the sofabed. Unfortunatlly, it was as bad as the other :(. My conclusion, go for the 2 bedroom suite for 6 guest. Wish I had the budget to do it right now...

The breakfast is sooo good and there are endless choices. There are always places to sit, even in the busiest times. It was nice if the breakfast last half an hour longer.
They also have an evening snack on weekdays. The one day we attended looked more like a nice-FREE dinner for our family needs. Really nice addition for your stay.

The shuttle works great - every half an hour to and from Disney, untill 1am!

The pool is wonderfull for young kids, because they have an additional pool that is only 1 ft deep, so the older ones can enjoy the regular pool and the huge hot tub while the little ones are in the kiddie pool (supevised, of course :))

And there is also a kids arcade, a nice gym (already used it twice. So proud of myself!), and a good size loundry area.

Front desk is very friendly and helpful, and makes you feel very welcome :)

Over all - the (almost) perfect place to stay. We recomand it to any family, and if you can afford it - get the larger suite.

Room Tip: Upper floor, facing Disney for a great fireworks view.

I stayed at this property after 4th of July weekend. It was wonderful for my 3 daughters and I to have our own rooms and bathrooms. It was quiet and well kept despite the large flow of guests with kids. The staff was well informed about the area/attractions and accomodating. Parking was a bit of a squeeze at times but that did not detract from our stay.

Room Tip: Req - highest floor possible and you can see Disney Fireworks.
