“Always a great stay with great service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

We stay here every year! It is the best location with the best service. The rooms are clean and newly remodeled. The hotel staff always goes above and beyond to make our stay perfect. We love the morning breakfast and the manager's reception in the afternoon. See you again next year!

Room Tip: All of rooms are newly remodeled and perfect.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

We stayed at the Residence Inn Garden Grove during February 15-18, 2013.

The hotel is currently being renovated, but we never heard any noise or endured any issues. The construction takes place during the daytime, so while you're enjoying yourself at Disneyland, they are hammering and handling the loud stuff.

We were on the 7th floor, and had a view of Harbor Blvd. The grounds are well maintained, and there is a large Target store very close by.

The food at breakfast was good, and well-stocked. They had bread for toasting, muffins, yogurt, cereal, waffles, lots of urns of coffee...and plenty of seating for the people in a hurry that want to grab a bite and head out.

We were a group of three families, with one small 3-year old. One family brought a small dog. the rooms were clean, and the kitchen areas were great. A regular-sized refrigerator for your drinks and water, a stove, a microwave....you have all you need.

The parking lot leaves something to be desired. During the construction, the parking lot is being used by trucks, probably for storage of supplies. This is not good, since one night, after a full 15 hours at Disneyland, the security person said we had to park at the nearby Hyatt hotel, and walk back. The parking was complimentary, but we didn't want to walk one more step after being on our feet all day. It added another 20 minutes to our evening, trying to find a place to park, and then working our way back to the hotel.

The management of the hotel is great. I worked directly with James Herrera and Bill Evans, and both were very accommodating. I love seeing the managers in the lobby area greeting guests as they arrive for breakfast, in the evening, or also being available to answer questions. Nice touch, guys!!!!

The clean rooms, the quietness, the location being within a mile of Disneyland/California Adventure, the ample breakfast, the coffee being available in the lobby all day and into the evening, all add up to a great experience near the Happiest Place on Earth. They were very easy to work with to answer questions and accommodate our needs with a small dog.

For all of the places around the Disney Resort area, this is a very nice place to stay. It came highly recommended to me, and I would recommend it to you.

Room Tip: If you have a family, spring for the 2 bedroom suite. It is worth the privacy, and the kid's ro...

Thanks for recommending us it is an honor to received such a positive review from a seasoned traveler like your self. It's always nice to have a little extra room to unwind after a long day at Disneyland and we're glad that you and your family had the same experience. I apologize for the inconveniences you and your family experienced, our current renovation has taken up some of our parking spaces. We have made arrangement with The Hyatt next door to assist us with over flow parking and are hoping to have the renovation completed soon. Thank you for noticing the efforts of our managers we are all committed to making the experience of every guest a memorable one.

We stayed here from Dec 8 - 14, 2012. This was our first family holiday in the US and we were very impressed. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with our 4 children aged 2 - 11yrs. It was clean and well-maintained, service from all staff was excellent. The manager was friendly and helpful. My little boy was not well and they even sent up a get well pack for free with soup and chips and a get well card:) Location was great with the shuttle direct to Disneyland right at the door. Kids had a wonderful time. Light bar snacks were a great easy dinner for the kids. Only criticism would be that we found the free breakfast to be very unhealthy, but maybe that is because we are from Australia, and we are used to lower fat and higher fibre options like muesli and fresh fruit. Highly recommend this place as brilliant for families, and will definitely be back if we head to Disneyland again.

It means a great deal to us to receive such a positive review from an international traveler like you. Having two bathrooms in your suite is a plus when you have kids. Your review touched on many of the reasons that we are the best choice for a hotel stay during a visit to Disneyland. We are always looking to improve our breakfast and we will take your suggestions to help us get better. We are grateful that you indicated you will return again in the future hope you have an even better experience next time.

We've stayed at several properties in the Anaheim area, but none compare to the Residence Inn. The staff made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. With 6 kids, our newly remodeled room felt like home and our view (8th floor facing Disney) allowed us to watch the fireworks on Sunday night. A full, hot breakfast and dinner (social hour) were excellent amenities. With a kitchen in our 3-room suite, we cooked a few dinners and late night snacks - everything was clean and ready to use. Outside, we enjoyed basketball on their court, a dip in the pool, kid's wading pool... and the large hot tub. Great after a hard day at Disneyland. Want to BBQ? They have two large built-in barbecues and preparation area. Don't look any further - stay at the Residence Inn Garden Grove on your next visit.

Room Tip: 6-8th floors facing Disneyland will allow you a great view of fireworks.

This was our second stay at this property and it just couldn't be better for families. (We have a 2 year old) the room we had was a 2 bedroom (one room with 2 twin beds) and the other a king, with a full kitchen. They offer free breakfast every morning and it is a great perk. Hot food, fresh fruit, daily menu changes, and a separate kids eating area decorated with Disney characters that the kids love. At night they offer free dinner with daily menu changes as well. GREAT VALUE when you consider how much money you normally spend on food while visiting Disneyland. It's a quick bus ride to the Park, and the staff is excellent. We stayed a week, and the hotel was going thru complete room renovations, and although we did hear a little bit of hammering and worker noise, it was really minimal, and they stopped by 5pm.
We even arrived at the hotel on our first day really early (10am) and they let us check right in without waiting (however note that my husband has executive level @ Marriott properties, so I'm sure that helped;) but was a major perk since we had to get up @ 4 am that day to catch our flight.
Overall...staff is EXCELLENT, property is super clean, and I can't wait to see the upgrades once the renovations are done, because the rooms are showing their age.

Room Tip: We prefer a room that faces the parking lot, it seems quieter than facing the pool and the "spo...

We thank you for posting this review. We feel that no hotel in the area caters to large families like the Residence Inn by Marriott. The additional space enhances your trip by giving you room to relax after a long day. Our daily breakfast buffet is an added value especially when you are traveling with a family. Thank you for being our guest!

We absolutely loved Residence Inn (Resort Area). We visited from Feb 7 till the 13 and I must say it was perfect all around with no complaints here. The location was perfect the property was kid friendly and my boys loved the Disney theme all around them. The room was perfect with lots of space and very clean!!!! (That is a must for me) The complimentary breakfast was a hit with the boys as well especially as the breakfast area included kid size tables and chairs with Disney channel on for them to watch on a big screen. Also each morning staff was handing out balloons which was a perfect unexpected touch that helped make this trip that much more special. The staff was very helpful and friendly, I felt like I was truly at home. Our next trip to Disneyland may not be for another year but I have no doubt where we will be staying! Residence Inn (Resort Area) is our home away from home. (Even my 5 year old son commented that he wanted to go back to his other home - referring to the hotel) Also they were in the process of renovating floor by floor and if I did not know any better I wouldn't even have known as I did not hear a thing and everything appeared as normal. Great job management and staff of the Residence Inn you have truly made our first family vacation to Disneyland one to remember. We definitely will see your establishment again very soon, we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else!

Room Tip: Kid Suite perfect for families.

My family and I needed a hotel in the Anaheim area for a long term stay (5 months). I have stayed at a number of hotels in the area--including a similar property across the street. By far this is the best hotel. The room, food, service, and especially the staff are fantastic!

Everyone at the front desk were very friendly and always greeted by name. The entire staff was very courteous and helpful if ever a need came up. I especially appreciate the royal treatment given to us by the manager, Frank Palacios, who remembered our birthdays, gave us cookies and other unexpected gifts (and a very nice touch when we departed), spent time getting to know us, and more...very refreshing to have such wonderful treatment at a hotel!

I really have nothing but the highest recommendation for this Marriott and it's staff. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Darryl
