“Good Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

This is a good, clean hotel, and it is well-suited for families. The common areas and the rooms are very clean, and everything is well-maintained. The one bedroom suites have a decent-sized living room, but the bedrooms are quite small. The beds are adequate but a bit hard, the towels plentiful but a bit rough. The bathrooms, though clean, are in need of remodeling. The grout and surfaces are showing their age, and there was no fan in the bathroom. The fan on the heater/ac, however, was quite loud, and the heater blew cool air for a long time before heating up

Housekeeping and the front desk were very good.

Though the hotel was said to be sold out, there was never trouble getting an elevator nor too big a crowd at breakfast. The food at the breakfast is varied and abundant, but the quality mediocre--think dorm food. Still, it is sufficient and an important amenity.

Not only is the Disneyland shuttle (ART--but tickets online ahead of time for multiple-day passes) stop right our front, there are several restaurants, a Target, a convenience store, and several other stores in short walking distance. It is just over a mile to the Disney parks.

All things considered, it is a very good choice for a stay.

Residence Inn I always feel its home away from home. This hotel is really awesome, its right on ART line, so going to Disney is soooo much easy. They have awesome breakfast, which doesnt repeat for a week, plus light dinner Mon-Thus. The rooms are clean, kitchen has everything if you want to cook, and grocery stores not far away. I believe there is one secret, if you do get up early, you can watch beautiful sunrise, what an awesome experience is that. The reception people were awesome, I got both early checkin as well as late checkout. They even stored our baggage as our flight was late in the night. Not sure when we will get back to Disney again, but if we do, you bet, will definitely stay here only. Keep up the good standard.

Sergio at the front desk was awesome. A real example of "customer service". I arrived around 10 p.m. with a group of teenagers for a Disney trip. He understood my needs and even gave me a tour of the available rooms. Upon selecting one of the suites with twin beds, Sergio was the man and upgraded to the queen beds. Are you kidding? Who does this anymore? On top of that, he hooked me up by not charging me the parking fee. I guess he knows how it can be with excited teenagers. In addition to the great room, the evening social and the buffet breakfast was great! Overall a great experience with this hotel and the staff. Definitely on the return list.

For families looking for a convenient, clean, spacious and reasonably priced hotel close to Disneyland, I would highly recommend the Residence Inn Anaheim Resort Area. We booked through Disney and had our Disneyland tickets included in the package, which made the stay extraordinarily good value! The kids had a room with bunk beds (always a winner), the adults had a room with a king and there was a separate lounge/kitchen and two bathrooms. Breakfast was complimentary, but don't expect 5 star food - it was just ok for us as a family looking for healthier options. We used the ART to get to Disneyland and the stop is just outside the hotel ... great for the journey home after a huge day.

As always the stay here was comfortable, relaxing, enjoyable and an overall fun vacation. This time we stayed for about 9 days! Wow, it was awesome. First, I would like to give the Manager and the front desk staff a very grateful "thank you" from our family for making the most of our time away from home and making it a welcoming one. Next I'd like to say we are a food loving family so it's important to all of us that breakfast be hot, hearty and fresh and that's exactly what you get every morning here at Residence Inn. Mon-Fri the Manger's special is more than adequate offering anything from burgers and hot dogs, to baked potato bar and hot soups and salads. It is very filling and satisfying after a long day running back and forth from Disneyland to California Adventure, whew, you can really work up an appetite. This time we didn't get the 2 bdrm but the one instead with a sofa sleeper and I can say that it wasn't that much of a difference other than my children would have liked their own room with the 2 twin beds and the separate bathroom which, I can say looking back would have been a great convenience to us all. We did receive bags of cookies about 2-3 times a night left in our room upon our return. One was thanking us for coming back and another for a minor set back for a very brief power outage that only stopped our microwave from working and another time I guess just because. We did again take advantage of Target across the way and this time found Food for less a grocery store on Katella and Beach Blvd. We were there while the staff starting decorating the front lobby for Christmas with a fresh Pine tree and wrapped presents underneath and the fire place was going, ahhh. As a young traveling mother I will say that the rooms may not be the best quality updated fashion designer style but it does encompass an environment tailored to suite the needs and comforts of families that will keep us coming back time and time again. One more thing we did take some time to swim in the heated pool, relaxed in the jacuzzi, played basketball and ping pong. The kids loved it! You can get the equipment at the front desk.

Room Tip: Our room was at the very end of the hall. Close to the stairwell exit and it was very quiet. We even...

It means a great deal to us to receive such a positive review from someone that has stayed at our hotel for 9 nights. Your review touched on many of the reasons that we are the best choice for a hotel stay during a visit to Disneyland. Our daily breakfast buffet is an added value especially when you are traveling with a family. Our recently renovated pool area is a popular area were kids can play and adults can relax in our oversize Jacuzzi. Thank you for being our guest!

Our first visit to Disneyland and we were really pleased with our stay. First thing to say that the reception staff were first rate ( more about that later).

We managed to get a suite on the 8th floor at one end so it was extremely quiet. We arrived about 1.00am so it was straight to bed. Our daughter loved the bunk bed in her room and as usual our Marriott bed was top notch. It was only in the morning that we noticed the very strong cooking smell that permeated the kitchen / sitting room. Over the next day or so, cleaning staff tried to get rid of it but to no avail, despite sprays and carpet cleaners. It just wouldn't go, so we asked to move rooms. This is when we met Sergio, he was superb and a real credit to Marriott. He spent over an hour trying to sort the issue in terms of juggling rooms. He thought he had it solved when he offered us a free upgrade and indeed the room was great, but alas no bunk bed which made it a "no" as far as our 3 year old was concerned. So back to the drawing board; in the end Sergio managed to get us another suite. The hotel was very busy so he could just have said "sorry". He also got us a free 6pm check out as we had a late flight leaving around midnight. It is things like this that people really appreciate and value. Hang on to him, Marriott.....

Hotel was great. Breakfast a bit of a scrum but it was free. We were amazed at how much some folk ate...... Washing machines and dryers were also free which was a bit of a bonus.

When we were there the pool was out of use for renovation. We hadn't been told about this in advance but It wasn't an issue as arrangements had been made to use the Hyatt pool, which actually was a blessing in disguise as it meant the pool area was quiet and we got to see another hotel.

The hotel is on the ART shuttle and although you have to pay for it, it is a good service. There is a pay machine outside the hotel. Every time we used it, it wasn't too full and was a very good service.

Room Tip: Get a room on the 8th floor for a quiet sleep
