“Wouldn't Stay Anywhere Else !”

Cannot Say Enough Good Things About Homewood Suites.

The Breakfasts are GREAT, The Managers Receptions are Great, Real Cost Saver , especially travelling with Children !

Pool and Hot Tub were a Godsend at the end of a Long Day.

Staff were all very Friendly and Accomodating, Greated every Morning by a Staff member or by the Manager.

Stayed for 9 Nights, close to everything, Pool was closed one night and arrangements were made to use the pool at the Hotel next door . Ample Parking.

Nice Big Rooms easily fit 2 Adults and 3 Children.

A.R.T. bus tickets Purchased at the Desk good for as many trips a day that you needed to make for $3.00 for Adults & $ 1.00 for Children.

Service was Phenominal
A+ all the way !!!

I have never written a review before but since I relied on this site before our mini vacation to Disneyland, I wanted to offer my opinion.

We visit Disneyland regularly and we have always stayed at the park hotels. We decided to save some money and found a fantastic price at the Homewood Suites.

Let me say, we will NEVER stay at the park hotels again! The Homewood Suites was awesome. The room was large and perfect for our family. We didn't have a chance to enjoy dinner at the hotel but with the three restaurants right in front of the hotel (Joe's Crab Shack, Outback and Red Robin) we had plenty of accessible choices.

I thought the hotel was very quiet and didn't hear anything all night, unlike most hotels with paper thin walls.

Breakfast in the morning was filling with waffles, eggs and ham. Starbucks is the hotel next door if you want to pay for coffee. We had no trouble driving and parking at the parking lot.

I think unless you want the convenience of the park hotels, it is worth the short drive to Homewood!

  • Liked — value for the room size, ease and free breakfast
  • Disliked — short drive to Disneyland

My family stayed at this hotel for a long weekend over Easter in March 2008. The purpose of our visit was to spend time at Disneyland and see relatives in the area.

I am a frequent Hilton hotel guest, so I used points to book this hotel but given the holiday weekend, I felt it was good value.

The hotel room was average; the typical problems we always see, such as, vacuuming done only in the obvious areas, but not underneath the sofa bed or the chair in the corner and the housekeeping schedule was very varied such that our room was cleaned at 9 am one day and 3 pm the next day. With small kids, that is not always convenient.

The suite set up was helpful when the kids went to bed early, we retreated to the bedroom, shut the door and could continue to watch TV without disturbing them. The bedroom was a typical size for a hotel room, but the living area/kitchen was very small. For comparison, it was much smaller and more compact than an Embassy Suites living room/kitchen area.

The breakfast area was clean and well set up. On Saturday the breakfast crowd was heavy, but the staff was doing its best to keep replenishing the food. The General Manager was on hand that morning greeting and talking to all guests.

Since we arrived on a Thursday evening, we missed out on the afternoon receptions, but based on the menus in the room, the receptions are much more substantial than the typical pretzels and popcorn found at the Embassy Suites.

The pool was heated, but not very much! The kids were able to swim comfortably during the day while the full sun out, but once the sun went down, it was too cold. The pool hours were very generous, from 6 am to 10 pm. The hot tub was not very hot, so my kids used it in place of the pool one evening when no adults were present. While we didn’t use them, we saw a family using the 2 gas grills near the pool area.

We did not use the shuttle system as we always find those types of shuttles to take twice as long as driving our own car and while the cost of $ 3 per adult and $ 1 per child, the savings over parking at Disneyland was not worth the extra hassle.

Disneyland is about 1 mile away and too far for a family to walk to. Target is across the street for emergency needs. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance and that will deliver.

Overall, I am very glad we choose a suite for our stay, but there were not any standout features that would entice me to come back to this specific hotel again.

My wife and I stayed at the Homewood Suites for two nights for an event at the Convention Center. This was our second stay here, the first being last year. The rooms are very clean and the furnishings are adequate for a comfortable stay. From our room on the 5th floor facing Disneyland, we were able to see the fireworks at night.

The were two things that stopped me from giving an excellent rating.
One was the young lady who took care of our check-in. She was very business-like and I don't think she smiled once. For me, first impressions are important. Everyone else who worked at the hotel were very friendly and courteous.
The second reason isn't really related to the hotel, but to the shuttle system which they suggested to get around in. It costs $3.00 for an all-day ticket. We found the Anaheim Resort Transit system to be unreliable and hard to understand/use. It 's actually a one-way route ending at Disneyland with a couple of other stops in between (Convention Center). Getting to a destination from the hotel wasn't bad although our shuttle was late, but getting back was really confusing and frustrating. I ended up walking back from the Convention Center.

There are three restaurants conveniently located just in front of the hotel (Outback, Joe's Crab Shack, and Red Robin).

The complimentary breakfast was great. They included waffles, bisquits& gravy, sausage, ham, scrambled eggs, fruits, cereals, the usual baked goods, and hot and cold beverages. The breakfast staff were very attentive.

Nice pool area too.

All-in all we would recommend staying at the Homewood Suites, just stay away from the shuttle.

I choose this Hotel for my family, wife, boys 3 and 6, because I am a Hilton Honors Member. I've almost always had a good experience with the Hampton Inn (same "family" as homewood suites). We stayed there Feb 9 to 14, the area had above average temps 70's and even 80's, great for us since we're from Wisconsin. The main pool was heated, but the kiddie pool was freezing, bummer for my kids. For the price in the area this is really good. We were there Five nights, so the breakfast got a little old, but hey it was free. Yes the staff was very accomodating, I would definitely reccommend this for families, there is a Disney shuttle bus that stops right outside the Hotel. There weren't any snacks or treats left out during the day (which is common with the Hampton), but I imagine that was because there is a free Dinner Mon-Thurs. The Mexican restaurant kiddie corner to the hotel is good, go there. The grocery stores in Garden Grove are terrible. If you have young children and aren't spending all your time at Disney (we never went there) check out the Children's Museum at La Habra.

We (2 adults and 2 kids) stayed here in January 2008 for 13 nights. My husband was there for the NAMM convention. while he did that, we visited Disneyland & California Adventure seven times! The hotel staff were great. The breakfast and evening reception was good, and saved us money, there was enough variety to keep us going throughout the day. We used the ART shuttle everyday, it was very good, stopped right outside the hotel. The kids enjoyed the pool and spa.
There are quite a few restaurants in the area which provided a variety of food. Our kids loved having a seperate TV in the bedroom. The only downside was the the slow elevator, but because we were on the fourth floor, most of the time, we used the stairs which was much faster than the elevator. I found when I was using the coin-operated laundry, the best time was early in the morning or in the afternoon, never in the evening - because there are only 3 washers and 3 dryers, and they were all taken up.
We enjoyed our stay there and would not hesitate to return in the future.
