“Great hotel, friendly and helpful people, OK food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

I stayed here for a week at the end of October 2013 while attending a convention meeting. The people were extremely friendly and everyone made me feel welcome and valued. The hotel has nice rooms that are well appointed and the cleaning staff are friendly as well. The Hyatt has lots of good social spaces and a nice bar. You can easily find a place to sit and talk or sit and have a drink and talk. The restaurant is only average, however. The food wasn't bad; it just wasn't anything more than typical hotel food. Service in the restaurant was quick, however, and that is more than most hotels seem able to accomplish.
I've been to this hotel four times over the last 15 or so years to attend this week-long conference and the hotel is better now than it has ever been. I think this is a good place with good people. There are many better places to eat nearby (go to Coco's for breakfast!), so you are not locked into the hotel restaurant. I look forward to returning.

Room Tip: The concierge is very helpful. Don't hesitate to ask for help. I hurt my back just before leav...

I stayed here for 4 nights recently for a business conference. This hotel is nicely appointed with large open atrium lobby, lots of seating and 2 restaurants. Also a Starbucks inside which serves everything except hot sandwiches/flatbreads. We stayed in the exec king suite in the South Tower. This room is fantastic for conference-goers. It is approx 650sq ft, includes 3 closets, a conference table and six chairs, L-shaped sofa with queen pullout bed, flat screen tv, and separate bedroom area with its own tv. Entire wall of windows overlooking the atrium was stunning.

Bedding was nice, pillows were excellent, the bed itself was good enough but nothing special. Wet bar with sink, microwave and fridge.

Elevators are plentiful and fast, only waited twice during the entire stay.

Both restaurants have small menus, but decent food and good service. The calamari at TosCA was very good. The breakfast Buffett is pricey at 21.95, but Phil the omelette guy is a great draw. Eggs, sausage, bacon, mini quiche, pancakes, waffles, potatoes, salsa, cereals, granolas, yogurt, fruit bagels, toast and pastries round out the buffet line.

Being only blocks from Disneyland, this hotel is a mix of vacationers in princess costumes and business types in suits. Very affordable at $159 for the big suite. Disney shuttle tickets are available onsite, as are admission tickets. This hotel is also a wedding venue, so if you are staying over a Saturday, expect blushing brides and attendants.

Parking is $22 for highly valet with in and out privileges, or $12 a night for self-park. Lot is very close to the hotel entrance.

A note...some of the standard rooms don't come with a fridge, but you can request one at the front desk and they will bring it up promptly.

We didn't use the inroom wifi, we used our cell phone as a hotspot, with great reception from south tower....North tower reception was iffy unless you were by the windows.

Shampoo and lotion were very strange "MD" brand that smelled funny. Usually hotel soap and shampoo are so fragrant and nice!

Gift shop has just about everything you could need, and hotel staff will bring you just about anything you've forgotten, from robes, to workout gear, to curling irons.

The hotel has two heated outdoor pools and a whirlpool. Also a very nice 24 hr gym, and an outdoor seating area on the third floor with huge fire pit. Really nice place to sit at night and have a glass of wine or local brew.

I would stay here again in a minute.

Room Tip: Go for the exec suite...it is worth it, you can get great deals. We were able to get the exec suite...

We stay for one night got a killer deal on expedia.com for 120$ so for the price we felt it was amazing. We stayed the 11-2-13 and really got to enjoy the property many things for the kids two pools we took advantage mire of the pool on the north wing but would have like to have more time on deck 3 sport rec area. Make sure you take advantage of the s'mores making fire pit.

Next time we come to the Anaheim area we will stay at this property if the price is low. Keep in mind wifi is 9.95 per 24 hrs, self parking is 16$, and our upgrade to kids suite was 40 bucks but for 2 and 3 kids made lots of sence

Room Tip: 865 on the north wing has fireworks view

We are Disney annual pass holders, and visit relatively often. I like to stay at the Grand Californian, but lately, it has been way too expensive. I have stayed at this Hyatt twice now, and realized that it deserved a review. This review is for my most recent stay in September, 2013.

Our trip started out poorly, as we were rear-ended on the freeway. When we arrived at the Hyatt, we told the person at the desk (I wish I had gotten her name, as she was awesome!) about our mishap. She could not have been nicer. Without going into detail, let's just say that she felt terrible that our trip had started out on a bad note, and she did A LOT to turn it around for us. I was so shocked that an employee not only cared, but actually took steps to make our trip a great one even though the "bad" event was not their fault. The customer service was amazing.

The valet manager was also fantastic. We had a minor issue (again, our fault and not the hotel's)...and the manager fixed it himself. I can't say enough about the service.

Now, onto the hotel. I am used to upscale hotels, and prefer to stay at higher end places. The Hyatt is not the Grand Californian, but it is a decent, clean place to stay. They accommodated our room requests (we had 3 rooms, and they were able to get them all in a row with 2 of them connecting), and the rooms were already ready for us when we checked in at around 10:00am. The rooms aren't huge, and they aren't "luxurious"...but we found them to be comfortable enough. The only complaint is that the elevators made a loud binging noise, and I could hear this from my room. So, don't stay near the elevators if you are a light sleeper.

We used the shuttle service to and from Disneyland. It runs on time, and doesn't stop at any other hotels. We found it to be very convenient, and much faster than parking in the Disney lot and taking the tram.

Breakfast in the restaurant was good, and even better that kids 5 and under eat at the buffet for free. Older kids are half price (about $10) for the buffet. They have an a la carte menu as well. If you want something faster, there is a Starbucks in the lobby. We found that to be quite convenient!

The Hyatt has become our go-to hotel when visiting Disneyland. It's very reasonably priced, convenient, has decent accommodations, and the customer service is truly top notch.

Room Tip: Don't stay near the elevators if you are a light sleeper.

Taking a two week trip to CA, we stayed in many hotels and this one knows how it's done! From the door service and greeters, cleanliness of our rooms and hotel staff's customer service there was not a moment in our several days there that wasn't PERFECT! Your hotel should be a training model to all Hyatt hotels and we've stayed in many! If you stay here, you will not be disappointed!

For whatever reason, I seem to have a difficult time with noise at most of the Hyatts where I've stayed. This one was different- the rooms were pretty quiet. I was there for a large corporate meeting and the food was very good at every meal. The adjacent conference center is convenient. The fitness center is a bit small for a large group, but a good size by any other standard. There are two pools, which are geared more towards fun than fitness. This Hyatt has changed my opinion of Hyatts in a positive way. It is within a mile of Disneyland. I even saw the nighttime fireworks from the room one night!

Room Tip: Ask to be on the same side as the Embassy Suites if you want to try to catch the fireworks from Disn...
