“Love/hate”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2012

I have a love/hate relationship with Dog House Grill. Parking can be very difficult, especially if there is an event at Save Mart Center which is across the street. The other thing that can be frustrating is trying to get a table. The front half of the restaurant is sit-down service where you have a server who takes your order and brings you your food/drinks. The back half of the restaurant is self-service. The place gets very busy, so there are usually people standing around waiting to grab a table. You'll feel like a vulture lurking around trying to get an open table. What they really need to do is make it all sit-down service and have a hostess stand to take names. This would take away the chaos of trying to get a table.
The only thing that makes the parking and service mess worth it is the food. The burgers are very good. The salads are also good, and the fries are absolutely addictive.

“Get There Early”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2012

If you want a seat in the bar you have to get there early. Like 11 am for lunch or 330 for dinner. The place fills up, QUICKLY. Food is a great change from other BAR FOOD. Tri tip sandwich and salad is great. 1/2 chicken meal is good. Must have the french fries and onion rings.

“Ya can't go just once”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2012

Since I am new to the area, my wife suggested that we try this place. I come from LA so there are lots of BBQ joints around. My first impression was the aroma wafting through the air, yes the smell of BBQ. As we walked up to the grill you see the patio grill where the cook all the tri tips. We order what 99% of others do, Tri tip sandwiches, side of fries, side of onion rings and an order of garlic bread with 2 cherry pepsi, about 30 bucks.

Onion rings are out of sight, fries are sprinkled with crack, you just cant have a few. The garlic bread was good but overkill as the sandwich's have enough bread. The sandwich's are PILED high with moist, well season saucy tri tip.

Parking kinda sucks, grab a table first, then order as the tables will go fast. If your gonna visit or even pass through, give a hour out of you time, you wont be disappointed.

“Go Bulldogs! ! ! !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2012

Great food, great service and great sports TV. Their signature menu item is the Tri-tip which is EXCELLENT (they BBQ it on site) and you can get it in a sandwich, taco or salad all are very good. There hamburgers, fries and onion rings are about the best in town. There are a lot of TVs around the restaurant and show several sporting events going on at the time...love it when horse racing is on. :) The restaurant is right across the street from Cal State University Fresno. You have two choices of how you get your food...you can order your own food like a fast food restaurant or can eat in the bar for table service. The restaurant & bar is actually one room and only divided by booths and high tables...we always opt for the bar and get table service...servers are mostly college students and a lot of fun. On week-end nights it fills up quickly with young adults for a noisy evening...we are seniors and love going there for a late lunch or early dinner and always enjoy ourselves.

“OMG”

An order of fries with ranch dressing...brought to your table in a family sized salad bowl. The ABC burger..avocado bacon and cheese! The tri-tip tacos...they also have a grilled chicken breast on a whole wheat roll....
