My husband had a heart attack and I needed a hotel that was close to the hospital and I needed it fast. My daughter reserved through an online hotel site and frankly, I didn't expect much because it was right behind Costco on a busy street.
I was surprised and delighted to find that Comfort Suites Fresno RiverPark was one of the most welcoming and accommodating places I've ever stayed. And that's saying a lot after 20 years in the airline business,
I've stayed at a lot of city and airport hotels, most of which are noisy and impersonal. This Comfort Suites is neither. The rooms were so quiet I never heard any street traffic and only heard my upstairs neighbors when they showered. The beds were layered with both a soft and a firm pillow for each person and the blanket/duvet bedding was extra cozy. And, they offer a full buffet breakfast from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. and use of their indoor pool and spa.
I mentioned the location as being a negative but it wasn't because Herndon is fenced off at the curb coming to a dead-end at the freeway access. It's a little tricky finding the auto entrance the first time, but it's easily accessed after that.
And the staff is wonderful! Our room was cleaned on our schedule and we wanted for nothing. When I extended my stay because of my husband's surgery schedule, they even gave us a discounted hospital rate. Although they were fully booked they found a cancellation to accommodate my brother and sister-in-law when they came in from L.A. to offer me support.
This Comfort Suites is a gem and probably one of the best-kept secrets in Fresno. I am so grateful for the comfort and care they provided me and my daughter and my family during a high-stress time in our lives.
