Some places have polite staff that is helpful, while others are polite but are unmotivated, and this is a case of the latter. Poor AC unit forced a change of rooms into another room with an AC problem, but not as bad. Room was small, and I am a Diamond member, so this was the first time I didn't get an upgrade to the best room...though they were available...and the management had a second chance with me. I even mentioned it to them and they were indifferent, which was a shame because I was there for medical reasons and could have used a good, problem-free experience with good treatment. No HBO but the beds were comfortable...No AC outlets handy for electronics and no desk.

We had to make a last minute trip to Fresno. We had stayed here before. The room had new carpet and the building was freshly repainted. The Breakfast was the best western breakfast...but overall it was good. We had a problem with a staff person, but when I called the desk the manager dealt with the issue withing 10 minutes.

good value, great location to stop before going to Yosemite. Front desk was professional and helpful with information about where to eat and where to shop for some necessities. I would prefer to have had a healthier breakfast. Rooms are very adequate and clean.

My wife and I were given poor service at Best Western in Fresno, CA. The clerk was new and did not know how to sign us in. We were given a room where possibly an employee took a nap on top of the bed, leaving it in disarray, and dropping toilet paper on the bathroom floor when they blew their nose. We were given two cards of which only one worked! Later that day the card that had originally worked no longer did. And the food selection was very poor. Many item no longer available and the juice machine was broken before 8:00 am

The Best Western Village Inn is really great, my room was very well presented with a nice Flat screen HD TV, fridge and coffee maker, they also put on a free hot breakfast, what more could you ask for? The neighbourhood has seen better times but the the folk for sure we're friendly and helpful. A super Denny's is next door and a local shopping mall across the street. Finally Mcdonals on the other side of the street. OK the breakfast room is small and can be busy, so to avoid just get up a little earlier than you would normally....

I stayed here this week for business which was essentially across the street and a couple of blocks down. I would guess the Village Inn recently got defrocked from the BW Plus level of hotel, because I saw printed items with the word "plus" between Western and Village while I was there. The neighborhood looks much worse than it is. While in Fresno for 4 days, I saw at various places around town: dozens of homeless people wandering the streets everywhere and at all hours of the night, aggressive panhandling at every intersection and restaurant, public drug usage and obvious prostitution. That being said, Fresno is going through a very rough decade and recently listened to an NPR program describing the place as having the worst homeless problem of any California city. This property offers a nice breakfast and the rooms are satisfactory with some pretty impressive beds! The price is right and they offer multi night discounts that fit my budget constraints. The whole time there, I never heard traffic or other guest noise. I'll be back in April!
