“We were expecting the place to be better.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

The hotel stands in an unsafe neighbourhood. We arrived late so we decided to have a quick dinner at the Mc Donnalds acroos the street. When we were there the waiter told us it would be better for us to carry the food to our room because we look to much like european tourists and he was afraid for us. It wasn't a joke. He told us he had to call the cops twice the days before because of troubles with some tourists and youns thiefs. except for this, the hotel is average. No lift wich is hard when you have plenty of luggages. The breakfast place is really small and not a lot of choice (no sausages, potatoes, etc..)

Thank you for your review. We have updated our hot breakfast menus which includes scrambled eggs, sausages and hams and biscuits and gravy along with fresh fruits from local farmer's market. As for security in the neighbourhood, unfortunately we have no measures to control what's happening outside but our hotel is located in safer neighbourhood than other hotels in Fresno. We have 35-40 security cameras at the hotel and security guard on property from 9pm to 5am everyday. We hope that you give us chance to show you our improvements on the next trip to Fresno.

I was a bit apprehensive after reading some of the reviews on this site, but as soon as I pulled into the parking lot my fears subsided. Honestly, some of the things people complained about were just unwarranted. My husband and I travel quite a bit (as you can see from my many postings) and there simply was nothing to complain about here. We booked on Priceline and got our room last night (Aug 4, 2012) for 60 bucks. The front counter lady was VERY friendly and we checked in quickly and easily. Our room was clean and had all the amenities we needed for an overnight stay. The hotel was booked solid, but not overly noisy. The neighborhood may not have been the best, but we never felt unsafe and there was security at night. We walked across the street to get doughnuts at about 1am and never felt like our lives were in danger. Plus the doughnuts were a goood after midnight snack for under 3 bucks (for four!). This is not a 5 star hotel, but what do people expect? For the price you can't beat it, and we will definitely be back as we have family in the area.

Room Tip: Maybe call the hotel direct to get a good deal if you don't want to take a chance on Priceline

This is my second time a have been in this hotel. Service is excellent. Rooms are clean and room service is on time. A/C and heater in the room is good for winter and summer. ( I have been here both season) Pool is good but it will be better if they can have towels by the pool insted of front desk. Breakfast is perfect. I can not find words to explain how plesent is this place to stay. I will advise to get the room online or by phone specially on summer time since it may be sold out.

It has a very nice outdoor pool, hot tub, no laundry services, Denny's restaurant is located right next to hotel,  which was very convenient. complimentary full breakfast. Internet access. Pets are also allowed if you have them.

We have stayed in many different hotels in Fresno in the past, but none has ever been this bad. It seems like we were being treated as second-class citizens just because we've booked our room through priceline. Even though we had four guests in our party, hotel management would only provide us with a room with a single queen bed, because they said that we've made reservations through a third-party. Very disappointed but we had no choice at this point but to try and make it work; since we've already paid in-full through priceline.

Entering our room, we had more issues than just trying to cram four people into a single queen bed. The old dingy and moldy bathroom of this very out-dated and beat up looking hotel room, only had 2 bathtowels. Both towels were very old and rough and had what looked like old bloodstains, unable to completely wash off. I immediately called the front desk for extra towels and guess what? They ran out of bath towels!! How does a hotel with vacant rooms still available, run out of bath towels? I have never heard of such a thing! Again, we did what we could and made it work, but have already made up our minds to never ever stay in this hell-hole again.

Besides the dirty bathroom and towels, the room was very small and cramped with alot of issues. Carpets were old, dingy, and had a foul odor. Phone outlet was broken and had revealed a hole through the wall. Electrical wires were hanging out from under the noisy old air conditioning unit, making it look very unsafe to operate or even being around.

The whole room gave us a very icky and ghetto vibe like the places you've seen on tv that rent out rooms by the hour. I can't believe I paid money to stay at a place like this. If I had known, no one can even pay me to stay here. We thought that since the place "looked" fairly new (or at least remodeled) from the outside, it couldn't be too bad inside...boy were we wrong. This place is a dump!

I would recommend anyone thinking about staying here to look for another place. Even if you had to pay a couple bucks more. You'll be glad you didn't waste a dollar or sleepless night here!!

Thank you for your review. When booking through priceline, the fine print clearly states that the purchase is only for a specific room type. When upgrading room types a surcharge can and will take place. Please contact priceline if further clarification is needed in regards to this. I sincerely apologize that my staff did not do a better job of explaining this. I believe at this point, no matter what the room was like you would have been dissatisfied and that responsibility falls squarely on the shoulders of my staff and I. Moving forward we will do a better job of explaining why priceline sells discounted rates and what the discounted rate means for guests who are expecting a specific room type only to find out that they can only get 1 room type.

A last minute change of business plans had us scrambling to find a good hotel in Fresno. WOW who would have thought that a Best Western (no disrespect to the franchise!) could be this great for the price!

The staff is super friendly in particular Julia & Jennifer helped us answer questions about the area and were genuinely interested in making sure we had a great stay. The breakfast was a great surprise! they actually had a hot breakfast w/ fruit from the local farmers market! who would have thought you could get fresh fruit at a hotel!!

The room was very clean and extremely quiet... especially for the amazing price! (also felt very central to the areas we visited in Fresno)

I was very pleased to find a hotel of this quality (at this price!) in the Fresno area. Will definitely be staying here the next time i'm in the area! NICE WORK!
