We have been to Edo-Ya many times and have always had great food and great service. However we went last friday night for teppan-yaki and the meal was rushed and the service was terrible. We were seated and the first course came, two minutes into eating the soup the salad showed up. Then a couple of minutes later the chef show up and starts cooking our meal. Instead of cooking it in courses he cooked everything at the same time.
Once the chef finished two minutes later the staff came around asking if anyone needed a take home container. Knowone at the table had even had a chance to eat their meal yet. Than as we half way through the meals they served icecream and gave everyone the bill.
In the past it took about and hour and a half to have a teppan-yaki style meal, this time we were in and out in one hour.
Here is the biggest proplem, my wife ordered chicken and shrimp, the chef repeated that to us before he started, at the completition of his cooking my wife said she had ordered chicken too. The chef told her she ordered shrimp only, said that is why he gave her more shrimp than the others and walked out. This is the rudest that we have ever been treated at a restaurant.
Not sure if we will be going back, the food is great but don't like the roude staff and being treated like cattle.
