“Wedding Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2011

If you are staying here for a wedding...which it seems that a LOT of people did the weekend when we were there, or for a conference-Try to get a room in the other tower. NOT the one with all the meeting rooms, Super LOUD night club and buffet.
The Night club is fun, don't get me wrong, but it's super loud and when its time for sleep, you wanna sleep. Also, this might be the only sports bar around town, so the locals come here to watch games. Even though we were guests of the hotel, we could barely get seating in the sports bar to watch a football game on Sunday morning.
The room was VERY Nice! It had a computer in it and we could get on the internet at no extra charge. There was a decent sized fridge- NO Microwave *so don't bother bringing your popcorn. Beds were super comfy and the provided ear plugs and lavender bed linen spray. All the regular stuff in the bathroom. Great lighting and super comfortable all around. Gym had plenty of machines and was very clean. Plenty of parking and super close to the Freeway. Nice. We got a room rate of $89/night as part of the wedding group. Ask for a discount...AND be sure you stay in that other tower.

Room Tip: Get in the other TOWER!!!!!!!

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza in the Executive Tower for two nights over Thanksgiving. The room was large and comfortable with plenty of light. We requested a room away from the highway so it was also fairly quiet. Except for a lack of hot water and water pressure the first morning (it was remedied by the next day), everything in the room worked well. Room was very clean with comfortable linens and plenty of towels. Food-wise, we thought the hotel was fine. We ordered room service the first morning which came promptly and was hot. The next morning we had the buffet in the dining room which was excellent - omelettes to order and plenty of choice on the breakfast buffet including fresh fruit, cereals, cheeses, salmon etc... nothing to complain about. Service was friendly and prompt throughout the hotel from check in to the wait staff in the restaurant. We would stay here again.

Room Tip: Request a room in the Executive Tower away from highway if you want a quieter stay. It's a bit...

We visited friends in San Mateo and booked this hotel at a decent weekend rate. We were very impressed with the facility and its services and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean. Internet and parking was free. There were at least a dozen restaurants and a shopping center within walking distance. We went to San Francisco downtown one day. Instead of driving, we decided to take the free shuttle to SF airport and then took public transportation into the city. On Sunday we decided to try the Champagne Sunday Brunch before we checked out. So glad we did. The seafood and prime rib was delicious. We will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: It's worth the extra money to book a room in the Executive Tower

I booked this through Booking.com as the lowest priced one noted for that particular night and we came directly from the airport late at night. The hotel wasn't visible from the freeway and when we stopped at a couple of hotels to ask where the street was, no one knew. We finally found it and it was nearly full. With a bit of wheedling we got a room that wasn't over the very noisy disco (I always ask on my bookings for 'quietest room', so don't know why they would have assigned us one of the noisiest). Unfortunately, the walls were very thin and they'd put us next to a room that had a family with several out-of-control small ones. The room was also at the end of the hall that had a laundry in use with noise from that. When i went to the lobby to ask about another room they weren't at all helpful, saying there were NO other rooms. I asked if they would at least call our 'neighbors' and let them know that kid noises after 11 p.m. weren't allowed. Whether they did, I don't know. Fortunately we were sleepy enough to go to sleep whilst they carried on.
The restaurant for breakfast was unreasonably high priced and there weren't any restaurants within walking distance.
I was dismayed that there had been both a Motel 6 AND a TravelLodge that had vacancies that were less than the $120 we paid for the night, at least one of these with a continental breakfast included. These would have made far better choices, but are not displayed on Booking.com. I would not stay at this hotel again. It wasn't friendly, convenient, or worth the money.

Room Tip: Obviously, insist they NOT put you near the disco OR near the laundry facilities.

The hotel itself was OK, nothing out of the ordinary. The location was pretty good, but rush hour traffic getting to the freeway was a bit crazy.

The internet connection was very flakey. Several times it would go out, and whenever I would call they weren't very helpful and always had the same answer that it would be up again soon.

We were in town for a 3 night visit. Not much time to settle in, but were impressed with how the hotel seemed to help us relax. A beautiful building, kept neat, clean and orderly. Every time we passed through the lobby, someone was about cleaning something. We had a room with 2 double beds, each had 8 (count 'em...8) big pillows. Nice decor, nice restaurants on premises. Very nice buffet breakfast in the lobby restaurant. I cannot speak for people who had rooms near the night club since we were on the 5th floor on the opposite side of the building, but the place did not seem loud at all when walking by. We heard nothing at all upstairs. Convenient parking for our rental car. Hotel also offered a shuttle to/from SFO.

Room Tip: It might be good to ask for a room away from the nightclub.
