“Less glass”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

It used to have lots of glass, but when the city cleaned up the metal and garbage, they hauled a lot of it away. Now you can hardly find red or blue pieces- but if you've never seen it, it's worth it.

“Beautiful beach that is a block away from Old Town.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013 via mobile

Glass Beach is a beautiful beach and Old Town Fort Bragg is just a block away. There is a main path, easy parking & dogs are allowed on a leash. We were disappointed to see a majority of the glass was looted and/or washed out to sea. Otherwise we really enjoyed Glass Beach and will return again.

“You have to see this place to believe it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

Spectacular one of a kind beach. When you walk down the path to the beach, take a hard left at the path running just on the ocean side of the chain link fence. Follow this path about 500 yards until you get to a beach that is literally 6" deep in places with glass bits. The most common colors are green, amber and white but keep your eyes out for blue, red, yellows and pinks. Best hunting right after big storm. Enjoy!

“Even Though it Was a Dump, I Loved It!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

Glass Beach is full of tide pools, open sandy areas and jagged cliffs, depending on which area you visit. The beach itself is littered with tons of bits of glass which have been smoothed by the ocean waves and tide. At first, I thought they were actual pieces of sea glass, but after reading up on the beach I learned that it was bits of trash. Glass Beach was once the Fort Bragg city dump. The beach was used as a trash sight until 1967 so the remnants of this pollution lives on in tiny pieces of glass. The coast has restored itself to its beautiful glory and now the glass pieces just offer little shining sparkles throughout the area.

“Duncan's visit to glass beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

Just breath taking...the timing of our trip cound NOT have been better. Beach was awesome, little to no winds coming in...for January, that's saying something. Glass was just beautiful, so worth taking the family out to see...our boys had a great time exploring.
