“Great food and service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2011

The Sonoma Orchid Inn recommended this restaurant and we were very pleased. Great atmosphere, excellent service and the food was excellent. Both of our appetizers were delicious. We had the pea soup and the pear and crab appetizers, both very good. We had fish for the main course and it was prepared perfectly. We generally order fish and it is frequently over cooked but this restaurant got it just right!

We highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely return when in the area.

“Birthday celebration at Corks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2011

We hosted 7 people for a birthday dinner here in October. The evening could not have been nicer. The food was really exceptional for the price and their RRV wines are very reasonable when compared to many in the vicinity. Ambiance was relaxed and casual to smart dressed. The wait staff was very attentive without being overbearing. Their garden view room is intimate and looks out to a lovely courtyard/patio (which is open during warm weather). We have been here on three occassions and each one has been better than the previous. This isn't a "5 star" restaurant, but it is not meant to be. It is the kind of place that you can visit a couple times a month and be very happy with the menu and experience and it won't break your bank account. It has a very local friendly feel while being definitely upscale in terms of food and beverage.

“Pretty good!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2010

We stopped here at Corks at the Russian River Vineyards because we had made an afternoon of wine tasting with no lunch and were getting too hungry to wait until we got to Bodega Bay.

The grounds and atmosphere were nice and the menu looked good, so we decided to go for it. With no prior expectations, I have to say it was a pretty good experience! After stopping at 5 wineries, we opted for just water so I can't comment on wines other than to say that Russian River Vineyards creates a variety of wines and none of them were bad.

We ordered the Hawaiian Ono (fish) with truffle risotto cakes and a duck leg confit with beans and roasted tomatoes. I've had better (more moist and tender) duck confit and the beans, corn, and tomato side was tasty but a bit basic. However, the ono was fantastic, tasted fresh and cooked perfectly and the truffle risotto cake was great. We also ordered a bread pudding dessert, which was a little pricey ($9) but very good.

The grounds and atmosphere are also attractive and relaxing.

If you're looking for a way to cap off the evening in the Russian River area with one last wine tasting followed by an early dinner, stopping at Russian River Vineyards and Corks is a good option. [They also have some lighter brunch and lunch items earlier in the day]
