“Great place for beers!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

My wife and I have been to Manderes on several occasions and recently started taking our kids. Manderes has wonderful food but the beer selection is unbelievable! The elusive Pliney the Elder is not on the menu but is usually available on draft if asked for. If Pliney is not available, you will not be disappointed with any other options.

“Great Neighborhood Spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

I have been to Manderes on several occasions. There is a variety of food options on the menu. the chowder is excellent! Their fries are also very good. Large selection of beers and enough wines to keep things interesting. Service is always attentive and, as at Cheers, Brent and his staff will remember both you and your favorites.

“Manderes - Good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

Nice owner, nice staff, nice place. a little loud sometimes. Cross between restaurant and bar. Great beer selection. Food is very good most of the time but has been inconsistent. I take my teen kids and they think the menu is "adult taste" oriented. I will go back. Often.

“Good place for the right crowd”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

Visited on July 8, 2013. Party of four adults for a quick B-day celebration. Service was friendly and good.
Crab/lobster chowder was good, but slightly on a high $ for the level of the restaurant.
Beer was slightly overpriced by about $ $.5 - $1 over similar establishments.
Steak kabobs was OK, but Korean BBQ was a better dish. Shrimp cocktail is $9.99. Not worth it. Better take the onion rings or calamari from the appetizer section.
Overall: good place for the right crowd.

“Worst Dinner”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

Worst dinner and poorest service. My husband and I went here last night for the first time because we had a gift card for $25.00. The place is dingy and feels like a bar. We were seated at a table in the "bar area" and at least half or more of the tables are in the bar section and all in view of the bar. We asked for two glasses of their house cabernet and they said they don't have house wine. That was fine, so we looked at the wine menu and after our first 3 selections (cabs and syrah) we were either told they were out or what was in the bottle was too old to serve, we asked what they had. They suggested pinot noir but not the Cline as it wasn't that good (so why is it on the menu?). Now on to dinner....My husband ordered the pork chop ($18.99) and I had the seared Ahi tuna ($17.99) and a small salad. The entrees were from their "specials" list. The salad came right before the entrees arrived rather than earlier to finish before my entree. The pork chop was very thin, overcooked, and was like leather. He had to ask for a steak knife so he could cut it. The Ahi was cool, not hot at all, and looked like it was something you would buy already seared and prepackaged at Costco- maybe that is why it wasn't really hot. But the risotto, which was too salty and overcooked, was very hot. Service... not attentive and not very knowledgeable. Enough said. The total bill was $65.00 - even after the $25.00 gift card, and yes we did tip $10.00, the meal was not worth the $50.00 we spent out of pocket let alone what the full bill would have been. We do not recommend this at all and will not return.
