“Pleasantly surprised!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

Went here after work and was pleasantly surprised with the surroundings. Old train tracks and historical markers dot the area and make you picture what it used to be like. Cool train turntable (I've never seen one before), basically only antique stores and bars along the street, but went to Chicago Fire for dinner and it was excellent!! Nice way to spend the evening!

“Great for overpriced antiques”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

This is a quaint area with too many vacancies. We went to a pizza place for lunch, but it was closed. There are lots of stores selling old stuff. There were several bars open.

“The Charm is Disappearing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

Unfortunately, the charm of Sutter Street is disappearing. We used to love to go to "Old Town Folsom" to browse the antique stores, speciality stores, and collectible shops. Since the Sutter Street re-do, however, it no longer feels like a fun place to visit. First: there is now on-street parking. This makes it very difficult to navigate the street. On-street parking should be minimized and reserved exclusively for disabled plates and/or loading/unloading and delivery vehicles. Second, there are entirely too many places serving alcohol. So many of the cute shops have closed -- expect more to vanish as people become disillusioned by the plethora of alcohol joints. But, if you DO go to Sutter Street, don't miss a couple of the best spots -- The History Museum, Pioneer Village, Snooks Candies, Hop Sing Restaurant, The Firehouse boutique, Clouds Pottery and other hidden gems are well worth seeking out.

“Cute area”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

Only a couple blocks long but with some cute shops and restaurants. Snooks ice cream shop is great for a summer treat and Chicago Fire Pizza is second to none Get the thin crust....... Also the antique shopping is fun. Easy to spend a couple hours roaming around and eating.

“Eat, shop, and have fun!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Sutter street in historic folom has great restaurants. My favorite is Pizzaria Classico. I also enjoy Sutter Steet Steakhouse. The shops are fabulous. Be sure to check out the firehouse boutique. They have unique clothing, purses and jewelry.
