“A good place to go and hang out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

This is a great place to go have a picnic with your family or to just relax. It has a good view and a good beach.

“Be warned of the cost for RV overnight”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013 via mobile

We stopped in one evening fir one night. The cost was $59 for full hookups. That is more than double of most state park camping fees.

“Busy Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

Beals Point has to be the busiest place around Folsom Lake. Boat docks, lots of parking. The designated swimming area and facilities are here. If this is your first time visiting Folsom Lake, this is a good place to start. If you want more privacy, wander around. There are lots of places around the lake to discover. People also stake out a good spot for picnics and shade, so get there early!

TIP: Bring an instant canopy. The water's edge is a good walk from real shade.

“A great place to camp”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

Camped with a group of 6 families over the summer. The campsites are nice and clean. The Folsom lake recreational area is fun with lots of activities.

“Fee Increases = Overpriced Facility”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

I used to love Beals Point. Nice beach, great place to walk dogs on the exposed lake bed when water levels are low. However since the fee increases earlier this year, combined with the fact that these increases were supposed to cover the parks system's budget shortfalls to keep the facility open. That was before we learned the State Parks system was hiding 50+ million dollars from the public and other agencies while crying broke. This park used to be $5 for day use. Then it went to $7, then to $10, and now they want $12. Outrageous. Even though I loved going here, I will not return again unless fees are reduced.
