“What a View!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

I was lucky enough to get a cottage right on the Sea of Galilee; it was a stunning view! The rooms were huge and were basically a 1 bedroom cottage. You could sleep a whole family in there with a double bed in 1 room, and 2 beds and a couch in the living room. There was a kitchenette and small table too. The best part was sitting on the little back porch, or on the couch, looking at the Sea of Galilee!

The Ein Gev staff was pretty friendly and helpful, and the place had a nice, relaxed atmosphere. Dinner at the restaurant was pretty good, but breakfast was just so-so. The beach was a quick walk from the cottage, and there was free Wi-Fi throughout the resort. I highly recommend this place. The only reason I didn't give it an excellent was because I couldn't get the A/C to work in the bedroom; I had to sleep in the living room.

Room Tip: Ask for a room right on the water. Not all of them have the view that I had.

We have been going to Ein GeV as a family for 6 years. Rooms are new and clean, grounds around the cabins are well maintained , staff is friendly and the Kinneret is luxurious.
This Kfar is not for sightseeing as it is located 20 min. Drive from Tveria. Also, u must bring a supply of food with u, rooms have a full kitchenette. This is truly a wonderful place to go for a vacation. Breakfast is not as plentiful as in other hotels, but u won't leave hungry either.

Extended family stay at the smallish cottages called kafriot in the northern part of the village. Each cottage has a main room with a double bed and an extra bedroom with two singles, so this is very convenient for a family.
The village is very well maintained, and the greatest attraction is the immediate access to the lake. The lake itself is beautiful, flat in the morning and then the winds being high waves in the afternoon and early evening. The stay is pretty expensive but it does include a huge and diverse breakfast buffet. Very good times.

We spent a week here without a car knowing that the only thing to do was relax. During the week the place caters to tour buses. On the weekend the place is swamped with locals and their families.
The breakfasts and dinners were wonderful.
Although they state that there is a snack bar at the beach it's only open on the weekend which in Israel is celebrated on Friday and Saturday.
Our room was overlooking the Kinneret (Gallilee) and was very nice and clean except for the ant problem in the bathroom. They were quick to spray but it continued to be a problem.
Overall Ein Gev met but did not exceed our expectations.

We stay 3 nights , we had great room few steps from the water , the room was modern , the service is superb, the breakfast was average but good food, we had fun, remember to bring water shoes to avoid walking on the rocks , that was a draw back the rock on the beach and in the water other then that it is a good place to stay and relax there is not much to do expect eat and enjoy the company you are with.

We spent 2 nights in a Superior Double room facing the lake and found the place very relaxing. After a swim in Lake Kinneret, we enjoyed the grassy area in front of the room and watched the sun set over Tiberius on the opposite shore. Even though tour groups book this place, at breakfast on both Sunday and Monday (May 18 and 19) we saw only 2 other people!

The room had a kitchenette which was ideal for making picnic lunches for our sightseeing excursions. It was too hot and humid to have the windows open, but was quiet and comfortable sleeping with the air conditioning on. Loved having the big patio facing the lake. We could easily have spent one or two more nights here.

Dinner one night at Marinado 10 minutes up Highway 92, and another at Japanika in the new mall south on Hwy 90.

One interesting thing, if you arrive on Saturday around check in time, (we arrived at 4:00 pm), your room may not be ready until 6 or 7 pm! Because this is the Sabbath, people checking out on Saturday are allowed to stay far past the normal check out time of 11:00 a.m. This surprise ended up working in our favor, in the reservation I had requested a room with 2 twin beds instead of a “double” room, not realizing that a double meant the twin beds were simply pushed together. The original 2 twin beds room wasn’t going to be ready until 7 pm, however room 429 configured as a “double” was ready and that room is in the quietest area as it is away from the parking lot.

Room Tip: Rooms 428, 429, and 430 are quiet and farthest from the parking lot
