“Go on, spoil yourself.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

We stayed in one of the cottages attached to Tenaya Lodge at the end of a four week tour of the North Eastern cities and San Francisco. It was a wonderful respite. For the most part, the staff seemed genuine in their efforts to assist us with our queries, which is more than one can say for some other hotels and resorts. They were amiable without being theatrical or overbearing. This was particularly in respect of the valets and the concierge, who really deserve this special mention.
We stayed for five nights and recommend the same to everyone else. Four whole days to explore Yosemite National Park such as the Valley Floor, Mariposa Grove, Glacier Point and the High Sierra (we counted ourselves lucky to get to see all this just before the US government shutdown).
It takes about one hour to get from the Lodge to the Valley Floor and up to three hours to the High Sierra. But don't worry, the scenery along the way is glorious! By the time you get back to the Lodge you will appreciate all it has to offer. I soaked in the indoor pool while my wife indulged in the spa treatment (which she highly recommends).
The restaurant food was good and the breakfasts sumptuous, which makes me wonder a bit about the wastage. But you get exactly what you pay for -- four star quality.
We stayed as a couple within this resort which promotes itself as family friendly. We sometimes heard the patter of little feet above us in the upper floor of the adjacent cottage in the early evening, but this didn't bother us as they quietened down by nightfall. In fact, this is a perfect resort for everyone to have their needs met, regardless of whether they be for business, couples, families or whatever. Highly recommended.

Thank you for your feedback, Bernard. We’re happy to hear your stay at Tenaya Lodge was enjoyable and that you were able to enjoy the parks before the shutdown, especially since you were coming all the way from Australia. We appreciate your comments!

I stayed here one night for a work-related retreat. The grounds are beautiful and the room was large, well-appointed, and clean. Yosemite was closed, but there are plenty of activities on-site and nearby. You have to pay for high-speed internet, but low-speed is free and was serviceable enough. The food at the restaurants was very good, although expensive. Every staff person I encountered was extremely pleasant and attentive. The meeting space was comfortable and convenient, and everything went as planned.

After a long drive from Napa it was lovely to arrive in this great hotel.

We received an upgrade although a small fee was required.

Our suite was amazing with a jacuzzi !

After a long day in the park it was nice having this hotel to relax in.

Food was a mixed bag the bar food was good however the restaurant are overpriced
and not worth the money.

One other note would be its location, 5 minutes from the southern entrance however
Its a good 45-60 minutes from thee main attractions such as the valley or glacier point.
Now its 20 mins from the mairposa grove of sequoias which is breath taking.

So if like us your doing a driving holiday you should consider that the hotel location will mean considerable driving.

We stayed four nights in the Cabins at Tenaya Lodge. The staff was great, the restaurants in the main hotel were great and service was top notch. Our only observation was that the parking at the cabins was very tight with most people driving SUVs; and we thought that the second bedroom in the cabin unit should have had a mirror and a trash can... perhaps mounting the TV on the wall would allow room for a mirror?? But overall, it was a very accommodating, beautiful place to stay.

Very pleased with the Hotel, Staff and location. Nice clean modern room and obviously a well maintained making the Lodge a pleasant place to stay. Good choice of restaurants, although food could have been a little better for the price. Bar restaurant was the best for atmosphere. Lots of help with how to visit the Park and arranging of trips very efficient. Would wholly recommend as a place to stay when visiting the Park, which is fantastic.

We booked as part of a package so don't know how much it actually cost us. We had a great room, very clean, twin beds which are great when on your honeymoon! The facilities are fantastic, 2 pools, 1 outside & 1 in, again with spa pools. Gym, sauna, steam rooms & spa treatments at additional cost. 3 restaurants were open, all good but over priced as was the bar but at the end of the day they have a captive audience. 1 mile from The National Park & 20 minute drive to Oakhurst which has diners, restaurants, fuel, supermarkets ect. Would definitely recommend & stay again!
