“I awarded them with a TRIP ADVISOR pin of EXCELLENCE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2014

April 21-April 23

If I were to imagine "the perfect trip", it would not even come close to this beautiful experience at this sanctuary. We felt welcome from the moment we drove up. We were warmly greeted by Grant and his wonderful dog Kamena.
I booked this B&B because I fell in love with the magnificent architecture .....I was very attracted to the beautiful WOOD and the way it was used on each wall to present a "masterpiece". I love the mountains...that's where I go to rejuvenate my soul. I don't want to be around crowds, so we seek beautiful places away from all the crowds of the Valley Floor. The B&B fits that requirement to a tea !! Magnificence surrounded by the forest.
However the true beauty of this B&B are the hosts, Grant and Beth, and of course their dog Kamena. They seemed to anticipate our every need. Each morning they put a beautiful tray of coffee or tea and the weather report for the local area, for the day. On our last day they thoughtfully put the weather report for our home town.
We had wonderful spa treatments at the Tenaya Lodge (across the highway), and when we returned Grant had a big roaring fire, soft music and Beth's guitar, waiting for us!! How perfect is that? They had remembered my husband mention that he had wished he brought his guitar....and there was Beth's guitar.
We choose to stay in the Sugar Pine Suite because I loved the extensive woodwork in the bathroom...plus it has a DEEP soaking bath tub. The tub is so heavenly, it just melts away all your stress. We arrived a little stressed and worn out from babysitting grand-kids during their spring break. Our first morning we woke up to rain...it was so mystical, to watch it rain in the forest through the extensive windows. The whole lodge has the feeling like the outside is inside. So we just stayed in our soft robes (provided) read books in our room all day and enjoyed watching and listening to the rain. Our suite had TWO decks so we had a wonderful full view of the forest surrounding us.
Each night they ask what time would you like your coffee tray and what time would you like your breakfast. Both of our breakfasts were just great. They were not only delicious, and creative, but served with a beautiful presentation. While we were enjoying our breakfasts, we really enjoyed chatting with Grant and Beth, as they were preparing. It quickly felt like we were talking to part of our family. I really felt sad to leave them and are very eager to return and maybe enjoy another season in Yosemite.
We who are lucky to live in California should enjoy YOSEMITE in all of the four seasons. It's so beautiful, no matter what time of year !! People come from AROUND THE WORLD to visit Yosemite, and we basically have it in our backyard.
I was SO IMPRESSED with Grant & Beth's extra special efforts to detail, and making us feel so welcome and at home in their inn, that I awarded them the TRIP ADVISOR PIN FOR EXCELLENT SERVICE !! Very well deserved !! We've stayed in MANY inns and B&Bs through the years and this one is by far THE TOP OF OUR LIST !! We left with our souls rejuvenated and big smiles on our face.

I have never been in Yosemite before, so thats was my first time and it was the beautiful experience i have ever had, and especially when i stayed with my sister and friends in Little Ahwahnee Inn, it was a fabulous place, I was in love with the view, the rooms, the service more than excellent, the breakfast so YUMMY and fresh!! so comfortable, we felt like we are in our house, and after a long day with hiking, you can set next to the fire place with relaxing music in the living room with beautiful lights. I really would highly recommend this place. Beth and Grant are very sweet and loving hosts , and I would love to visit this place again with my parents :)
Thank you Beth and Grant for this beautiful experience.

Beth and Grant are the most gracious hosts in the most beautiful of all settings of Yosemite. Giving their all to make you comfortable, with a breakfast designed around their guests, you would have to try hard to have a bad time. Welcome to the place that allows to to reconnect to yourself

I would highly recommend this place to anyone! We stayed in the Sugar Pine room, beautiful wooden furniture and an extremely comfy bed. Delicious fresh local coffee every morning delivered to your room and a huge bath tub for soaking in after a long hike. We loved the fire and sitting on an evening after a long day in such a beautiful place listening to the fire crackle. The breakfast was delicious and sets you up for a day on the trails. Grant's expertise in what to visit was invaluable as we were only there 2 nights on part of a west coast tour and we saw a lot. Mariposa Grove was just up the road which is well worth a visit and make sure you ask how to get to Sentinel Dome - spectacular views!! Great hosts and we hope to return one day.

Thank you Grant and Beth!

Very relaxing and private. Beautiful B&B. Very wooded. Sitting on our private deck with tasty coffee in morning was beautiful. Deep soaking tub much needed after long hikes in Yosemite 10 min away. Good breakfast in AM prepares you for hikes all day. Valuable, insider advise on hikes in Yosemite - was able to structure our limited time there very efficiently. Sitting by the fire inside that was made for us nightly was a great way to recap and relax. Lots of guidebooks available there and very nice hosts!

We stayed at Little Ahwahnee Inn for 2 days (17 - 19 Apr 2014) and had an absolutely wonderful time! The consideration and warmth extended by Beth and Grant, and the comfortable and beautiful Inn provided a refreshing refuge. Each day began with a bountiful and delicious breakfast, cooked by Grant - very tasty omelettes and memorable pancakes! Also, as we were new to Yosemite, they both took time to describe the selection and order of visiting the best sights in the park. (They provided annotated maps to guide our route through the park.) Their experience and insight prepared us to see AMAZING views which we had not heard of or would have otherwise missed. Also, the Little Ahwahnee Inn is very close to the Yosemite Fish Camp entrance, enabling a visit to the park sights even after a late afternoon arrival. The affection of Beth and Grant for the inn, the beautiful surroundings and their guests made our stay a treasured time. We look forward to our next visit!
