BIRDERS’ PARADISE
ATTENTION BIRDERS; All of the positive comments listed below are absolutely true so I won’t clutter up the page by repeating them but one remark that seems to be missing is the fact that birders, other naturalists, and nature photographers should find that this place offers incredibly unique opportunities.
Andrea, the owner, is a card carrying Audubon birder. Her farm offers a haven for numerous species of birds. Nature parks and preserves are nearby but we found the hunting better at the farm than anywhere else.
It is beautiful place in a wonderful location and it’s an operating, organic farm that sells produce to many of the Farmers Markets, upscale restaurants and specialty stores in the San Diego area.
There are three rooms, one of which is a suite, that are perfect for anyone who wants to "get out of Dodge" for a while. But, with ONLY the three rooms available, you will feel more like you are at home than in a lodge or inn. There are plenty of opportunities for strolling or hiking but the place makes just soaking up the quiet environment very tempting.
The breakfasts... "Gourmet" just doesn't say it. We have had wonderful meals prepared for us on many parts of the planet but none could surpass this feast.
A few other notes: Andrea has a fine collection of birding and other nature books, the free wi-fi works well and (if you really have to) cell phone connections are great. It is only 20 minutes from Oceanside and the freeway. I 15 isn’t far either.
You may run into us there as we will definitely be back!
