The real hotels in Eureka were all sold out, and this seemed like a good deal at the time. Entering the lobby area with the grumpy Asian guy running the place, you can smell the mold immediately. If you go inspect a room, they seem quaint, and don't smell of mold or mildew until you shut all the windows because you're cold at night. It is next to the ocean, so yeah, even in summer months, it is cold at night. If you have breathing problems like asthma, you will probably have an attack. The outside area of the hotel was noisy most of the night, with people yelling expletives. Breakfast looked really good, but too bad there were about a hundred flys hovering all around the uncovered food, juice and milk. This hotel could be a gold mine if they invested some money, but alas, it is a pit. Avoid this place and keep moving on, even if other places are sold out.

To begin with, we take great offense at the reviewer's competerly unacceptable and insulting racial description of our owner.

That, in itself, renders all of the rest of this review tainted.
That includes the countless, beyond-negative remarks about everything that they could seem to find to make our hotel sound like "a pit" to be avoided by all travelers.
We certainly take exception with quite a few of the negatives they listed ---including the one about breakfast with "about a hundred flies hovering around."
And, if our location is so "cold" and "noisy," why was this aspect given their top rating of five, compared to the rest of their low individual ratings for the inn?
But, they did indeed step over-the-line of acceptable criticism, and have gone way too far, in stating (as if it were a fact) in their obviously non-medically-authorized, personal opinion, that a guest staying in one our rooms who had "breathing problems" would "probably have an attack." How dare they say such a thing!
