It was our last dinner of a 2 week driving trip vacation. We wanted an enjoyable evening, but weren't looking for that killer meal. On a walk through Old Town Eureka scoping out restaurants, we happened upon Roy's. The restaurant was not yet open, but the deli next door was. They had a menu and took reservations. It looked just like what we wanted.
This is old style Italian. The entrees came with a small antipasti plate and soup or salad. The atmosphere is very 1950's-1960's supper club. Our server, Kathie, was extremely friendly and professional. She truly added to the meal experience.
I ordered the Cannelonni stuffed with chicken and spinach, then baked in a red sauce with cheese. Very good. My husband, however, picked the winner. Ravioli with Bolognese sauce. There was so much and it was so good, we figured how to transport the leftovers back to our home 350 miles away. We had them the next night as we did vacation laundry.
If we are ever back in Eureka, you can be sure that we will be going to Roy's.
