Very laid back and secluded spot to strip down to your natural self and enjoy one of the best beaches the North Coast has to offer. Shallow coastline, soft sandy beach, and surrounded on all sides by redwoods. Paradise? I thought so. On some week days you can come down here and have the beach all to yourself, but even when it's busy you'll never see more than a couple dozen people. As long as your respectful to others and don't do anything indecent, the park police won't give you any trouble.
Here's the directions:
From Eureka, go north on Highway 101 and take the Trinidad turnoff. At the first intersection turn right onto Patrick's Point Drive and follow it a little ways until you pass the Ocean Grove Lodge. A few seconds after that you'll see Anderson Street. Hang a left there. Take this curving road slowly. At the end of this road, take a right. The dirt road to College Cove will be on your left within a minute or so. Turn left, drive down the dirt road, and pull into the parking area on the right hand side.
At the end of the lot will be a large walking path. Walk this path for about 5 minutes or so until you see a clearly visible opening in the foliage on the left side. Take this trail down to the beach. It's not a tough trail, but it's been a long while since it's been maintained so watch your step.
Once you get to the beach the nude section is just past the rocks on your left hand side.
