“South Pacific Nearly complete”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013 via mobile

The South Pacific production is nearly over...Chicago begins soon. It is since little theater that caters to the retired crowd...including a lunch and dinner buffet that is mostly filled by a retired crowd. This production was well done by a small cast and chorus. The theater is small, but they adjusted the production and choreography as much as possible. Since we were staying at the resort for the week, it was an easy and pleasant activity. I'm not sure I would drive from far away to take advantage of the productions as someone who hasn't reached retirement level.

“Not for the young”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

This was not for young people. Maybe if you are over 50 you would enjoy it more. It was a pretty area, and the facility was nice, I am sure senior citizens love it, just not our family.

“Good to very good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

We've seen several productions there. Casts are generally young, energetic. Don't expect a big production, as it's a small stage. Saw South Pacifice this year, and the chorus was six each gender, small combo for orchestra, including one violin, drum, and reed player each. Some standout singing, and some ho-hum, unimaginative choreography, and pretty awkward stage direction, although the production moved along at a great clip. The lobby features the life and times of Lawrence Welk and family, and on certain days the theater offers other acts. This year all the resort's front desk staff wore sailor caps and denim shirts, and ad cards for the show were everywhere around the resort, even on the maintenance vehicles. Generally, we've seen better productions in the past, such as Scarlet Pimpernel which was lots of fun. Theater itself is nice, about 400 seats, well equipped, and well miked despite its cozy size, to cater to the hard of hearing crowd, myself included.

“not impressed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

The customer service left a lot to be desired...the restaurant was just so so and they never stop hounding you about buying a timeshare. The only upside was the little farmers market that they had and the ducks that were outside of our room in the morning.

“Lovely place.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

My family owns a time share at Lawrence Welk and it's snuggled in the valleys between Temecula and North San Diego County. I have been going here since before I could track time and I know this is a great family location. Enjoy.
