I will say from the get go that I love this place and have high hopes that it will remain a place to go in Escondido. From the mixed nuts to the entrees, the food is tasty and well presented, but unfortunately from my experiences, the service is a hit and miss - especially when it comes to the lounge service - there is necessary improvement needed here.
My first experience with Vintana Wine & Dine was dinner shortly after they open for business, and both the food and the service were excellent. My second experience was lunch with a friend and, again, the food was excellent but the service was not. Our waitress walked by our table at least twice without bothering to notice if we needed anything or stating that she would be right with us. We finally flagged someone else down and asked for what we needed. I don’t like being fused over, but I don’t like being ignored either.
I hope they work out the kinks and pick up the pace in their service. I loved Chef Deborah’s Kemo Sabe restaurant in Hillcrest, and enjoy many of the other fine Cohn restaurants in San Diego County.
