“Gratitude”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

Gratitude is the word that comes to mind when I think of this place in our very own backyard. It is a peaceful beautiful setting. Recently came here bringing teens on a school field trip and was surprised how many had never been before. Such a shame we are so busy to miss these special areas in front of us. There is no fee and all are welcomed to come sit and enjoy the koi ponds, or the view of the ocean. Just don't try and bring in that cup of coffee as drinks/food is not allowed.

“Tranquil”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

This is a very nice, quiet garden. There are some great views looking over the cliff out to the Pacific Ocean. A small donation will get you in. There are koi ponds and great plant life. A nice little retreat.

This was a great place to relax after a good meal at the Lotus Cafe and watch surfers. We liked the koi ponds and great views.

“Beautiful and peaceful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

Small but wonderful spot for meditation overlooking the ocean. Go on weekdays as it gets busy on weekends.

“So Beautiful & Peaceful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

We discovered this place while on our BITE SAN DIEGO food tour. Such a beautiful & magnificent place to walk around & take in life. It over looks the ocean (Swami Beach is right beneath it) & there are certain spots you can sit cliffside & just take in all its beauty. Theres a particular corner right behind the old pool that you can climb up a few large steps & sit on under a bonsai looking tree... its perfect. Despite the mass amounts of people that came and went there were moments sitting there of absolute silence. The amount of unusal & amazing plants & flowers to see around every corner, I couldnt put my camera down. There are some species of plants that look straight out of a fairy tale. Unusual lotus looking plants with enormous spikes protruding from them...trees with tarzan vines and 3 or 4 koi ponds with MONSTROUS koi fish swimming in them. So many places & benches to just sit and relax (meditate when its quite). Theres a spot on the edge of the cliff where the old GOLDEN LOTUS TEMPLE used to be...all that remains of it now is the front temple steps...the rest was built on a clay foundation & was claimed by the sea. Its really breathtaking to stand in front of it & imagine a temple actually being there. What a wonderful find this meditation garden is...the plant life ALONE will have you in awe..but just being able to look out over the cliffs and realize you are literally on the edge of the earth is really a great experience & really makes you love life.
