“Best Highway 1 Mendocino County Burger!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

My husband and I recently drove north from Sea Ranch along Highway 1 and were ready for a great roadside burger. And there it was in Elk, CA a small town just north of Arena Point and Manchester. The burger was perfectly cooked and the beer was an amber ale from Ukiah, a very tasty combo. Loved this place and would recommend it to anyone. It is situated next to the former Elk Garage which dates back to 1901 and today sits next door to the Elk Cooperative (art) Gallery which has a wonderful outdoor sculpture garden. We even bought a watercolor from a local artist. Terrific afternoon! Thanks to everyone.

“Legit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

If you are adventurous you can shut your eyes, point at something on the menu and be happy ordering at Queenie's. I had the huevos rancheros, reuben and other various menu items as a group of four of us grazed off each other's plates. We even got a visit from Queenie and she greeted us with some great quips.

“Best Breakfast Ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

Stopped here while driving from Ft. Bragg to Bodega Bay, the breakfast was incredible. We were amazed earlier when we tried to find a place to eat in Mendocino, it's like they've outlawed restaurants in that town! It turned out to be a blessing in disguise because we found Queenie's a few miles down the road. If you have the opportunity, check it out, excellent food and friendly hometown service.

“Great food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

Queenie has had this location for several years, and was very popular in the restaurants she worked in before she opened her own place. If you like diner food, you'll love Queenie's. Sometimes you just have to have some old fashioned comfort food that is well prepared. It's a bit of a drive for me, but the view is spectacular.

“WORTH SEEKING OUT”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

Stumbled across Queenie's while driving from San Fransisco to Mendocino, and what an absolute gem!
Great atmosphere, wonderful service, a burger worth travelling miles for, and we were even directed to the impossible-to-find restrooms by Eddie, the 86 year old local who was lunching there. If that's not an endorsement, I don't know what is.
This is the kind of place you dream about finding, so plan a stop here on your coastal drive, but keep in mind that it closes early - 3 o'clock each day.
